State-Level Consultation with Stakeholders for Early Childhood Care and Education – Laying the Foundation & Launching of Poshan Maah 2025
Aizawl, Sept 2025: Today, at RB Mc Hall, Aijal Club, a “State-Level Consultation with Stakeholders for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) – Laying the Foundation & Launching of Poshan Maah 2025” was held, with Smt. Lalzarmawii, Commissioner & Secretary, Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Department as the chief guest, who also officially launched the event.
Speaking at the programme, she explained that the consultation was being organized as part of the recommendations made during the 5th National CS Conference on the theme “Human Capital for Viksit Bharat”, where Early Childhood Care & Education: Laying the Foundation was identified by the Ministry of Women & Child Development as a national priority. She further emphasized that all departments must continue their joint efforts, ensuring proper nutrition and quality training.
Mrs. Lalzarmawii also highlighted the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025, outlining its focus areas and themes:
- Educating on the importance of balanced and nutritious diets.
- Awareness on maternal care and the crucial role of men/fathers in women’s health.
- Promoting ECCE through the theme “Zirtir la, Eitur tha pe rawh” (Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi) – integrating nutrition with education.
- Tree plantation under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam’.
- Raising awareness about the importance of safe drinking water for mothers.
Mrs. Zoramthangi Chhangte, Director, Women & Child Development, in her address to the gathering, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders, stressing that the true foundation of national development lies in laying strong foundations for child development.
Today’s programme also included an interactive session, moderated by Mrs. Sailopari, Joint Director, followed by presentations and panel discussions led by subject experts.
