BJP Marks 12 Years of NDA Rule, Celebrates Modi Era as Landmark Phase of Governance, Reform and National Transformation

New Delhi, May 2026 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday marked the completion of 12 years since the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) first assumed office at the Centre in 2014, describing the period as a transformative era of governance, development and national renewal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As the BJP-led NDA government completed 12 years in office, the Centre also announced a nationwide outreach campaign aimed at connecting with citizens across the country. Under this initiative, Union ministers, BJP leaders, chief ministers and Members of Parliament will engage directly with the public to highlight what the government describes as its “22 major achievements” across multiple sectors, including welfare delivery, infrastructure, economic reform, digital governance, foreign policy and social development.

The campaign is expected to serve as a large-scale communication exercise, showcasing flagship schemes and policy interventions implemented over the last 12 years. These include financial inclusion initiatives, direct benefit transfer systems, rural development programmes, digital infrastructure expansion, healthcare reforms and efforts to strengthen national security and global engagement.

BJP National President Nitin Nabin extended greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the completion of 12 years in office, describing the journey as one that has transformed “resolve into achievement”.

“This era, which began on May 26, 2014, is not merely a change in governance but a historic moment of the nation’s reclaimed self-confidence and cultural renaissance under the illustrious leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Nabin said in a post on social media platform X.

He said the government’s guiding principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’, combined with the vision of ‘Antyodaya’, had redefined governance by turning policy into a tool of empowerment for ordinary citizens.

Nabin highlighted key initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Digital India and the government’s emphasis on balancing development with cultural preservation under the slogan “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi”.

He further said India today stands stronger, more secure and more confident in safeguarding its sovereignty, citing decisive action against terrorism and the enhanced capability of the armed forces.

“This 12-year journey of good governance and nation-first ethos now forms the strongest foundation for the grand resolve of Viksit Bharat at 2047,” he added.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also marked the occasion, stating that May 26, 2014, represented the beginning of a new chapter in India’s governance and developmental journey when Narendra Modi first took oath as Prime Minister.

He said that over the past 12 years, India has witnessed a major transformation across multiple sectors, including economic development, social welfare, infrastructure expansion, digital innovation and national security reforms.

“From economic development and social welfare to a strong push for Aatmanirbhar Bharat and digital transformation, from infrastructure growth and decisive global leadership to a stronger national security framework, India has marched ahead with unprecedented speed and scale,” Singh said in a post on X.

He added that India’s development story had become more inclusive and far-reaching, with a stronger focus on bringing marginalised communities into the mainstream.

“Most importantly, under the leadership of PM Modi, the vision of Antyodaya has been realised in its truest sense. Millions who had remained unseen and unheard for decades became active participants in India’s growth story,” the Defence Minister said.

Singh further stated that the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” had moved beyond slogans and become a consistent framework of governance and policymaking.

“Today, India stands stronger, prouder and more self-confident than ever before. A ‘Pradhan-Sevak’, in the truest sense, Modi Ji has dedicated every moment of his life to the service of Maa Bharati and her people,” he added.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also described the 12-year period as one marked by service-oriented governance and a focus on the welfare of the poor.

He said the country has witnessed a significant shift from what he termed an earlier phase of “policy paralysis” to a governance model defined by “Reform, Perform and Transform”.

According to Chouhan, the past 12 years represent a “golden era” of reconstruction, public welfare and developmental progress aimed at building a developed India.

“These 12 years have borne witness to the empowerment of the person at the farthest end and the realisation of the resolve of ‘Antyodaya’,” he said.

He added that the Modi government has significantly impacted the lives of villagers, farmers, women, youth and economically weaker sections through targeted welfare programmes.

Highlighting key initiatives, Chouhan mentioned Jan Dhan accounts, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana and the Digital India mission, stating that these schemes have transformed governance delivery and expanded financial and social inclusion.

“The Prime Minister has scripted a new saga of development and public welfare, and under his leadership, the country is rapidly advancing toward the goal of a Viksit Bharat,” he added.

With the BJP launching its nationwide outreach programme, party leaders say the 12-year milestone is not only a moment of reflection but also a platform to showcase achievements and set the agenda for India’s next phase of growth and development leading up to 2047.
