CM Vishnu Deo Sai Participates in the Urban Administration Department’s Cleanliness, Housing, and Public Welfare Festival

Raipur, Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the Urban Administration and Development Department’s Cleanliness, Housing, and Public Welfare Festival. At the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College in Raipur, he inaugurated at the state level the campaigns ‘Swachhata Hi Seva,’ ‘Angikaar-2025,’ PM SVANidhi Scheme 2.0, and Lok Kalyan Mela. He also facilitated the housewarming of 11,000 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) across different municipal bodies.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister Shri Arun Sao, MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat and Shri Sunil Soni, and Raipur Mayor Smt. Meenal Chaubey were also present.

The Chief Minister and other dignitaries unveiled the state-level Swachhata Super League toolkit. Under PM Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, he handed over building permits to eligible beneficiaries and distributed cheques to PM SVANidhi recipients. Compassionate appointment letters were also given to families of deceased Raipur Municipal Corporation employees. The Chief Minister administered a cleanliness pledge to the audience and flagged off door-to-door waste collection vehicles dedicated to sanitation.

Extending greetings on Vishwakarma Jayanti and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Shri Sai said that PM Modi has created mass awareness about cleanliness and health, making cleanliness a habit for the people. He added that cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of women but also of men. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for bringing cleanliness to this level in the country.

Highlighting achievements, the Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh won seven national awards in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25. Out of the 100 cleanest cities in the country with populations below 20,000, 58 are from Chhattisgarh. He praised sanitation workers, “Swachhata Didis,” and citizens, urging further improvement in rankings. He reiterated the government’s commitment to building a “Developed Chhattisgarh” and “Developed India” in line with Vision Document-2047.

Deputy CM Shri Arun Sao said that in the last 11 years, PM Modi has worked for every citizen under the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He explained that under Angikaar-2025, every eligible family will be provided housing, with a special campaign running from September 4 to October 31. PM SVANidhi Scheme 2.0 will uplift street vendors, now being implemented across Chhattisgarh. He added that ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ will become a people’s movement by engaging everyone.

Urban Administration Secretary Dr. Basvaraju S. welcomed the participants and informed that the fortnight-long cleanliness drive is being celebrated as “Swachhotsav.” During this, black spots of filth will be identified and cleaned across all municipalities. Senior officials from Urban Administration, SUDA, Raipur Municipal Corporation, MIC members, corporators, and scheme beneficiaries attended in large numbers.
