Bhopal’s Central Library will be modernized

Three libraries of the School Education Department are operating in Bhopal. Through these libraries, various study materials along with newspapers are being made available to the citizens, especially the youth. Special efforts have been made by the department for the renovation of these libraries.

The Collector Bhopal has provided a budget of Rs 6 crore 50 lakh for the renovation of Government Central Library Bhopal which is better known as the Maulana Azad Central Library.. Expansion of library area, construction of a 3-storeyed building, parking arrangement and new furniture, etc. are being done with the budget funds. After completion of these works, apart from the existing system in the Central Library, study facilities will be available to 500 more new members. The work of maintenance and development of the library has also been done by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. On the demand of library members, about 350 new informative books have been purchased from the departmental budget and made available to the readers.

The library has a stock of 60 thousand books

Bhopal District Library is being operated on the second floor of multilevel smart parking in the New Market of Bhopal. A collection of about 60 thousand books is available in this library. Apart from the citizens, youth also come to this library every day to study for the preparation of competitive examinations.

Various activities take place in the library of GTB Complex

Swami Vivekananda Library is being operated in the GTB Complex of Bhopal with a grant from the School Education Department. Earlier this library was known as the British Library. Last year, a 2-day festival of storytelling, quiz competitions, and fun activities was organized for children in the Swami Vivekananda Library in which prizes were distributed to the winners. Along with this, children from Class 3rd to 8th of Jawahar Bal Bhavan and World Way International School were given information about the activities run by the library. Children were encouraged to study through books instead of mobile phones. On the demand of library members, about 600 new books were added to the library’s collection.
