Chhattisgarh State Election Commission Nominated for International Award
Raipur, Sept 2025 : The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has been nominated for an international award for the outstanding management of the 2025 local body elections. The nomination has been made by the research institute International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) under the United Nations Public Administration Network (UNPAN). This achievement is a recognition at the global level of the transparency, efficiency, and innovation demonstrated in Chhattisgarh’s election management.
Success Under the Leadership of State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh
Under the guidance and leadership of State Election Commissioner Mr. Ajay Singh, the proposal submitted by the Commission was accepted by ICPS. The Commission’s initiative to conduct municipal and three-tier panchayat elections simultaneously in 2025 has been considered an exceptional accomplishment. For this, the Commission has been nominated either for the Winner’s Award or the Special Recognition for Outstanding Achievement Award.
ICPS: A Research Body on Democratic Systems
Headquartered at Milbank Tower, London (U.K.), ICPS works in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It conducts studies and research on democratic systems and provides recommendations to governments worldwide to strengthen democracy at the international level.
Award Ceremony to be Held in Gaborone, Botswana
The award ceremony will be held in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, from October 1 to 4, 2025. ICPS has invited representatives of the Commission to participate in the event. From the Commission, Secretary Mr. Sukhnath Ahirwar and Deputy Secretary Mr. Alok Kumar Srivastava have been authorized to attend. Subject to government approval for overseas travel, they will represent the Chhattisgarh State Election Commission at the ceremony.
