CM Bhajanlal Sharma Urges Non-Resident Rajasthanis to Contribute to State’s Growth;

Announces ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Award’ and Invites to Pravasi Rajasthani Day on December 10 in Jaipur

Jaipur, Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the achievements of Non-Resident Rajasthanis are a significant source of inspiration and guidance for the people of the state, especially for the youth. He urged that Non-Resident Rajasthanis should contribute not only to the progress of their workplace (Surat) but also to the development of their motherland (Rajasthan).

Shri Sharma was addressing the Pravasi Rajasthani Meet held in Surat, Gujarat on Wednesday. He stated that the relationship between Gujarat and Rajasthan is not limited to geographical proximity, but extends to immense opportunities for economic, cultural, and social cooperation in areas like gems and jewellery, pharma, textiles, and the upcoming petrochemical complex in the state.

Make Rajasthan a Global ‘Gems and Jewellery Hub’

The Chief Minister said that both Surat and Rajasthan are united by a shared spirit of entrepreneurship, creativity, and perseverance. Surat is world-famous for diamond cutting and synthetic textiles, while Rajasthan is renowned for coloured stones, kundan, meenakari, textiles, and gems. He called upon everyone to work together to make Rajasthan the ‘Gems and Jewellery Hub’ of the world.

‘Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Award’ for Outstanding Contribution

Shri Sharma invited Non-Resident Rajasthanis to participate in large numbers in the Pravasi Rajasthani Day to be held on December 10 in Jaipur. He said that several of the country’s leading industrialists are Non-Resident Rajasthanis, who are a matter of pride for the state. On this occasion, the ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Samman Award’ will be presented to honour those who have made exceptional contributions in fields like science, business, art, sports, literature, cinema, music, and social service.

Support for Global Capability Centres and Data Centres

The Chief Minister said that the state government is set to launch a petrochemical refinery in December and will provide full cooperation to investors in setting up Global Capability Centres and Data Centres. He invited entrepreneurs and investors to explore opportunities in IT, pharma, textiles, gems and jewellery, energy, petrochemicals, tourism, and mining.

He mentioned that the government has established an institutional framework to strengthen ties with Non-Resident Rajasthanis. Currently, 26 chapters of Rajasthan Foundation are active across India and abroad, fostering meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and cultural exchange with the NRR community.

₹7 Lakh Crore Projects Implemented

Shri Sharma said that a dedicated department will soon be established to further strengthen the government’s engagement with the global Rajasthani diaspora. The initiative aims to involve them in the state’s development and ensure their participation in building a ‘Developed Rajasthan 2047’.

He stated that Rajasthan is moving towards becoming a $350 billion economy by 2030, and through government efforts, it has emerged as one of the most investment-friendly and progressive states in India. Out of the ₹35 lakh crore worth of MoUs signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, projects worth ₹7 lakh crore have already materialised on the ground.

₹1,400 Crore Subsidy Given Under RIPS-2024

Highlighting the state’s investment-friendly policies, he said that more than 20 new policies have been implemented and revised, creating a progressive business ecosystem. Under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS)-2024, investors have received subsidies exceeding ₹1,400 crore in the last one and a half years, opening new avenues for investment and innovation.

Notable Contribution of NRRs in Water Conservation and Groundwater Recharge

The Chief Minister acknowledged the remarkable contribution of Non-Resident Rajasthanis in water conservation and groundwater recharge. He urged them to actively participate in state initiatives such as Panchayat Samiti Nandishala Jan Sahbhagita Yojana, Bhamashah Scheme, Gyan Sankalp Portal, and naming of government colleges, hospitals, and schools.

He said, “With your active involvement and cooperation, we can bring transformation across many sectors and strengthen the state’s infrastructure.”

Parliamentary Affairs Minister’s Remarks

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel said that the government has created an investor-friendly environment in Rajasthan, opening new industrial opportunities. With its vast solar and wind energy potential, robust infrastructure, and progressive policies, Rajasthan is emerging as one of India’s top investment destinations.

Honouring of Non-Resident Rajasthanis; Rajasthan Foundation Brochure Released

CM Sharma honoured Non-Resident Rajasthanis for their notable contributions in the social sector at the event. He said that the recognition symbolises the collective strength, service spirit, and rich heritage of the community. He also released the brochure of the Rajasthan Foundation, which outlines the organisation’s objectives, structure, and active chapters worldwide.

He urged Non-Resident Rajasthanis to remain connected with their roots and become partners in the state’s development and investment opportunities.

Present at the event were MLAs Shri Pushpendra Singh and Shri Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit, Additional Chief Secretary (PHED & Groundwater) Shri Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce) Shri Alok Gupta, CII Southern Regional Council Chairman Shri Hetul Mehta, and senior government officials. A large number of members from the Rajasthan Foundation Surat Chapter, including its President Shri Shyam Rathi, also participated.

Pravasi Rajasthani Day will be celebrated on December 10 in Jaipur. It is a key initiative of the Government of Rajasthan, aimed at strengthening engagement with the global Rajasthani diaspora. Organised under the leadership of the Industries Department and Rajasthan Foundation, the event provides a platform for Non-Resident Rajasthanis to connect, collaborate, invest, and engage culturally with their home state.
