Ensure Timely and Adequate Insurance Compensation for Farmers – Guardian Minister Meghna Bordikar
Review of Natural Disaster Grant Distribution and Fund Requests in Parbhani District
Parbhani, Oct 2025 : Guardian Minister Meghna Sakore-Bordikar emphasized that the district administration and crop insurance companies must work in coordination to ensure farmers receive timely and adequate crop insurance compensation. Areas that have suffered extensive damage should be planned for crop harvesting trials. All revenue, agriculture, rural development officials, and representatives from insurance companies were instructed to work together to maximize insurance compensation for farmers.
Minister Bordikar addressed a review meeting at the District Collectorate, which focused on natural disaster grant allocation and fund requests in Parbhani district. The meeting was attended by District Collector Sanjay Singh Chavan, Additional District Collector Dr. Pratap Kale, Resident Deputy Collector Anuradha Dhalkari, Subdivisional Officers Jivraj Dapkar, Sangita Chavan, Udaysingh Bhosale, all Tahsildars, and officials from the Revenue, Agriculture, Rural Development departments, as well as insurance company representatives.
Minister Bordikar stated that everyone must make efforts to ensure maximum assistance reaches farmers. She instructed the district administration to deposit the rainfall damage assistance into farmers’ accounts before Diwali. Last year, farmers faced significant difficulties with crop insurance, and this time the insurance company must ensure no complaints arise from farmers. She also directed the district administration to document sediment accumulation in wells of fields located near rivers.
Initially, District Collector Chavan presented detailed information on grant allocations for August rainfall and flood damage and the procedures for September’s field surveys and fund requests. He added that the grant received for August damages is being deposited into farmers’ accounts and field surveys for September’s rainfall damage have been completed. For farmers without a Farmer ID, instructions were given to keep e-Kevasi (digital enrollment) centers operational for extended hours in the morning and evening.

Parbhani, Oct 9 (Jimaka): Guardian Minister Meghna Sakore-Bordikar highlighted that the District Council is a vital local self-government institution that effectively works for rural public welfare.
She inaugurated the new assembly hall of the District Council and spoke at the event. Present were District Collector Sanjay Singh Chavan, Chief Executive Officer of District Council Natisha Mathur, Superintendent of Police Ravindra Singh Pardeshi, Municipal Commissioner Nitin Narvekar, Additional CEO Rashmi Khandekar, Project Director Smita Pawar, Deputy CEO Dr. Sandeep Ghonsikar, and Executive Engineer D.S. Udanashive.
The Minister stated that through the District Council, rural problems are addressed and better facilities provided. Benefits of central and state government schemes are delivered through the council’s mechanism. She praised Parbhani District Council’s Women and Child Development department for conducting surveys of single women and for executing the 100-day office improvement campaign. She urged everyone to participate in the Chief Minister’s Samruddha Panchayat Raj campaign and work efficiently for state-level recognition.
District Council’s Women and Child Development department received recognition at the Udaan-2025 event in Delhi for excellent performance in the Anganwadi skill development program. The award was presented to Anganwadi workers Vatsala Kaluram Bharshankar, Asha Purbhaji Zunjhare, among others, by Minister Bordikar.
District Collector Chavan noted that various government schemes are delivered to the public through the council, promoting rural development. Superintendent of Police Ravindra Singh Pardeshi mentioned that the new council hall was built using modern technology and will be highly useful.
Initially, CEO Natisha Mathur gave an introduction detailing the various schemes implemented by the District Council. A large number of officials and staff attended.
About the District Council Assembly Hall
The new assembly hall is designed for general council meetings, standing committee meetings, and subject committee meetings. It has a seating capacity of approximately 150, equipped with one projector, seven internet-connected television sets, 80 microphone points, and 22-ton air conditioning.
