Jan Suraaj Announces Second List of 65 Candidates for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

Patna, Oct 2025 : The Jan Suraaj party on Monday announced its second list of 65 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, featuring a balanced mix of reserved and general category seats. The list includes 20 reserved seats — 19 for Scheduled Castes (SC) and one for a Scheduled Tribe (ST) — along with 45 general category seats.

The announcement was made by the party’s national president, Uday Singh, who said the selection reflects Jan Suraaj’s commitment to inclusive representation across all sections of society.

“Staying true to our promise of representation for every community, candidates from the largest Extremely Backward Class group — 10 Hindu and 4 Muslim — have been announced from 14 seats. Additionally, 10 candidates are from the Other Backward Class and 14 from the Minority Class,” Singh said.

He added that the party has also fulfilled its commitment to ensuring participation of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates on general seats. “One Scheduled Caste candidate is being fielded from the Harnaut Assembly constituency in Nalanda district,” he noted.

Among the prominent names in the second list are Dr. Shahnawaz Alam, a well-known physician from Siwan who will contest from Badhariya; Abhaykant Jha from Bhagalpur; Neeraj Singh from Sheohar; Lalababu Yadav from Narkatiaganj; Mantosh Sahani from Kalyanpur; Rajiv Ranjan Singh from Sandesh; Azam Anwar Hussain from Bajpatti; Ratneshwar Thakur from Harlakhi; Janardan Yadav from Narpatganj; and Tanuja Kumari from Islampur.

With this announcement, Jan Suraaj has so far declared candidates for 116 Assembly seats. In its first list, the party had announced 51 candidates, including 49 first-time contestants.

Led by political strategist Prashant Kishor, Jan Suraaj has declared that it will contest all 243 Assembly seats in Bihar independently, without entering into any alliance.

Kishor has already launched his campaign from the Raghopur Assembly constituency in Vaishali district and continues to campaign aggressively across the state, positioning Jan Suraaj as a third alternative to both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance (GA)/INDIA bloc.
