AAP Leader Anurag Dhanda Slams Union Minister Khattar Over Remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Chandigarh, Oct 2025: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda strongly criticized Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his recent remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, calling them “deeply shameful and unacceptable.”

Dhanda said, “Khattar has served twice as the Chief Minister of Haryana and is now a Union Minister. He should be ashamed of making such comments about Baba Saheb Ambedkar.”

He further stated, “Insulting Baba Saheb is part of the BJP’s DNA. Their hatred towards Dalits and Scheduled Castes has been exposed repeatedly.”

Calling Khattar’s remarks “disgraceful,” Dhanda said the statement was not just an attack on Baba Saheb but a direct assault on the Constitution and the dignity of the Dalit community. “This comment is not merely an insult to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, but also to the entire Constitution and the Dalit society of our country,” he added.

Dhanda demanded that the BJP should apologize to the nation, saying, “The BJP owes an apology to the people of India.”

Elaborating further, Dhanda said the comments made by Manohar Lal Khattar were intolerable in any form. “Khattar’s statement is not merely an individual opinion but reflects the BJP’s deep-seated anti-Dalit mindset and hatred. Attempting to undermine the legacy of Baba Saheb, the architect of the Indian Constitution, is a direct insult to the Dalit community,” he said.

The AAP leader accused the BJP of having a long record of disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar and the Dalit community. “The BJP’s history is filled with repeated instances of humiliating Baba Saheb and the Dalit society. They mocked Ambedkar in Parliament by calling him a ‘trend’. They have spoken about changing the Constitution and attempted to reject the very document crafted by him. They even ran a smear campaign against a Dalit judge to tarnish his image. Now, Khattar has repeated the same regressive mindset by questioning Baba Saheb’s role,” Dhanda alleged.

He further said that Khattar’s thinking is “extremely narrow-minded and filled with hatred.” “During his tenure as Haryana’s Chief Minister, Khattar consistently worked to weaken and divide the Dalit community and undermine their rights. His recent comments on Baba Saheb expose not only his petty mindset but also the BJP’s toxic ideology,” Dhanda remarked.

Reiterating AAP’s demand, Dhanda said, “The Aam Aadmi Party demands that Union Minister Khattar immediately issue an unconditional apology for his statement. If the BJP agrees with Khattar’s remarks, it will become evident that the party stands openly against Dalits and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.”

Dhanda concluded by saying, “No one can diminish Baba Saheb Ambedkar. He was, is, and will always remain the architect of our Constitution. Leaders like Khattar only end up exposing the smallness of their own thinking.”
