RJD Expels 27 Leaders for Anti-Party Activities Ahead of Bihar Assembly Polls

Patna, Oct 2025 : In a decisive move to enforce party discipline ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday expelled 27 leaders for engaging in anti-party activities. The expelled members were accused of violating party directives by contesting elections independently or extending support to rival candidates.

The party’s disciplinary committee took the action after receiving multiple complaints from local units. The move is being viewed as a strong message from the RJD leadership amid an intense election campaign. According to party sources, those expelled include several former district and block presidents, along with senior grassroots leaders who were found to be defying the party line.

RJD state president Jagdanand Singh emphasized that maintaining organizational discipline is non-negotiable. “Strict action will continue against any leader who violates party decorum. Discipline is paramount in the RJD,” Singh stated, adding that unity within the party ranks is crucial as the state heads toward a high-stakes election.

Party insiders suggest that the decision also aims to contain potential rebellion within the RJD following discontent over ticket distribution. A few disgruntled leaders had reportedly announced plans to contest as independents after being denied nominations.

RJD sources confirmed that the leadership has taken a firm stance—any member acting against the party’s official position will face immediate and uncompromising disciplinary measures. Further action against those found violating party discipline is also under consideration in the coming days.

With this move, the RJD seeks to project an image of organizational strength and internal cohesion as it prepares to take on the ruling NDA in the upcoming polls.
