Three-Day Training in Jaipur Strengthens Capacity to Prevent Gender-Based Violence

Jaipur, Oct 2025 — A three-day training program aimed at strengthening the capacity of Saathins and supervisors to prevent gender-based violence (GBV) in their communities concluded successfully in Jaipur on Wednesday. The program was organized by the Directorate of Women Empowerment, Jaipur, in collaboration with the Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR), from October 27 to 29 at the Rajasthan Institute of Cooperative Education and Management. Participants included Saathins and supervisors from Jaisalmer, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Sikar districts.

Commissioner of Women Empowerment Neetu Rajeshwar informed that this was the third of four planned training sessions being conducted specifically for Saathins and supervisors from 15 districts. The key objective of the training, she said, was to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively work within their communities and enhance their ability to prevent gender-based violence.

During the three-day program, participants were given comprehensive insights into laws and schemes related to the prevention of violence against women, effective communication methods, and strategies for coordinated community-level efforts with supporting organizations to prevent GBV.

Participants also visited the Women’s Safety and Counselling Centre and the Sneh Aangan Centre in Gandhinagar, where they gained an in-depth understanding of the centers’ functioning.

On the final day, Saathins and supervisors jointly prepared a one-month pilot action plan, outlining specific steps to be implemented in their routine fieldwork.

At the conclusion of the program, 27 participants were awarded certificates by the department for successfully completing the training.
