As Bihar Polls Near, Prashant Kishor Slams Lalu and Nitish, Calls for Politics Beyond Caste and Religion

Patna, Oct 2025 : As the dates for the Bihar Assembly elections draw closer, the war of words between leaders of the ruling and opposition alliances is intensifying. On Wednesday, Jan Suraj Party chief Prashant Kishor campaigned for his party’s candidate in Madhepura, launching a sharp attack on both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He held RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar responsible for what he called “decades of stagnation” in Bihar’s development.

Addressing a massive public meeting, Kishor said, “Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar have been in power for years, serving as chief ministers and central ministers, yet the state continues to struggle with unemployment, corruption, and poor governance. These two leaders are at the root of Bihar’s problems.”

In a scathing comparison, Kishor likened the RJD to “an expired medicine.” He said, “The RJD is like an expired medicine that Bihar used for 15 years, but it did not cure any disease. Instead, it made the state even sicker.” He told the crowd that Bihar had witnessed two major political experiments over the past three decades — one by the RJD and the other by the NDA — and both, he claimed, had failed to meet public expectations.

“Under RJD rule, Bihar suffered from jungle raj — a time when crime, corruption, and unemployment were at their peak. And now, when the same old faces talk of change, the public must realize that expired medicine cannot work again,” he added.

Kishor also criticized the RJD leadership for what he described as hypocrisy in the name of social justice. “Lalu Yadav and his family did politics in the name of the poor, but today their children live in palaces while the poor still struggle for basic needs,” he said. “Bihar doesn’t need leaders who think only of their families’ progress; it needs leaders who can solve the real issues of the people.”

Through his Jan Suraj Yatra, Kishor appealed to voters to rise above caste and religion and focus on development-oriented politics. “Bihar needs a new approach to education, healthcare, employment, and industry. Until people move beyond the old political brands, there will be no real change,” he asserted.

Kishor further accused both the NDA and the RJD of misleading voters for the sake of power. “One party does politics in the name of religion and the other in the name of caste. But both aim only to gain power, not to serve the people,” he said.

During his campaign in Madhepura, Kishor interacted with villagers and listened to their grievances. He urged Bihar’s youth to take an active role in rebuilding the state. “In this election, people must decide whether they want the return of jungle raj and corruption or the beginning of a new Bihar,” he said.

Emphasizing his party’s long-term vision, Kishor added, “Jan Suraj is not an election stunt but a social movement.” He urged voters to support education, employment, and change. “If voters choose the same old leaders, migration will continue. But if they choose change, every Bihari will find work in their own state,” he concluded.
