Players from 11 colleges to participate at the College of Agriculture, Raipur

Raipur, Nov 2025 :The Eastern Regional Inter-Collegiate Sports Competition 2025, under Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Raipur, will begin tomorrow, 19 November, at the College of Agriculture, Raipur. Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel will inaugurate the Eastern Regional Inter-Collegiate Sports Competition at 10 AM in the premises of the College of Agriculture. Around 300 male and female students from the College of Agriculture, Raipur; Swami Vivekananda College of Agricultural Engineering, Raipur; College of Food Technology, Raipur; College of Agriculture, Mahasamund; College of Agriculture, Bhatapara; College of Agriculture, Marra (Patan); and College of Agriculture, Gariaband, will participate in the competition.

This three-day sports competition, to be held from 19 to 21 November 2025, will feature various sports events. Individual events will include long jump, high jump, triple jump, javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, hurdles race, and 4x100m and 4x400m relay races. Team events will include volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, badminton and table tennis.

It is noteworthy that all agricultural colleges under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University have been divided into four zones, with 11 colleges falling under the Eastern Zone. Inter-collegiate sports competitions are also being organised in the 28 colleges of the Western, Northern and Southern zones. From these competitions, a team of 40 selected students will be formed from each zone, and these teams will represent their respective zones in the university-level inter-collegiate sports competition. From the university-level competition among all four zones, a final university team of 40 selected players will be formed, which will represent IGKV at the national-level Inter-Agricultural Universities Sports Competition.
