Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Roll–2026
78 BLOs of Rajasthan Become an Example of Responsibility, Dedication, and Service — Completed 100% Work, Now Helping Other BLOs — From Desert to Hills, Fulfilled Duty Even in Difficult Geographical Conditions
Jaipur, Nov 2025 : In the villages, hamlets, desert dunes, and remote areas of Rajasthan, an invisible yet extremely important campaign is underway — the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Roll–2026. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are working day and night to reach every household, add voters, correct errors, and make this fundamental process of democracy accurate. In this campaign, which began on 4 November, the 78 BLOs across the state who not only completed their responsibility on time but fulfilled it with excellence were honoured in the presence of District Election Officers and the Chief Electoral Officer through video conference.
From the desert to the hills… fulfilling duty amid difficult geographical challenges
Chief Electoral Officer Shri Naveen Mahajan not only honoured these BLOs but said that their dedication is as vast as the varied geography of Rajasthan. Whether canal areas, hill regions, or the far-stretching desert — at every place these officers carried out their duty tirelessly and without pause.
The passion to walk to distant hamlets… the story of Hukam Chand Sain of Nokha
The experience of Hukam Chand Sain, BLO of Part No. 87 of Nokha tehsil in Bikaner district, brings forth the true spirit of this campaign. His area has about 150 hamlets. These hamlets are scattered far across agricultural fields, and reaching them is not easy. Yet, he reached every household on foot and completed the SIR work 100 percent by 18 November.
After completing SIR-related work, Hukam Chand voluntarily began helping his supervisor and other BLOs in digitisation and mapping. He told the Chief Electoral Officer that the cooperation of villagers, the AERO, and his supervisor kept giving him continuous motivation.
A 60-kilometre journey and walking over desert dunes… the indomitable courage of Karnail Singh of Jaisalmer
The story of Karnail Singh, BLO of Part No. 84 in Jaisalmer, is another example of fulfilling responsibility in challenging circumstances. His booth area is divided among several hamlets, with long distances in between.
Some voters had migrated, and to reach them he had to travel up to 60 kilometres. Part of this journey was completed on foot over high desert dunes.
Even after that, he did not stop — after completing the work 100 percent on 19 November, he voluntarily began helping neighbouring Booth Level Officers with filling enumeration forms and digitisation.
Message of working as one team
During the felicitation ceremony, the Chief Electoral Officer appealed to all the outstanding BLOs to assist the other BLOs of their assembly constituency. He said:
“When everyone moves forward together, only then will the Special Intensive Revision work in the state be completed successfully.”
These heroes strengthen the roots of democracy
This feature story is not only about the honouring of 78 BLOs, but also about the hard work, dedication, and spirit of service of the hundreds of officers engaged in taking the voice of democracy to every voter in Rajasthan.
Sometimes in the dust-laden winds of the desert, sometimes on pathways amid fields, sometimes on hilly tracks — they visit each and every household for just one purpose: to strengthen democracy.
The honour of these 78 BLOs is in fact the honour of all those who, without self-interest and without show, are honestly fulfilling this democratic responsibility.
