Dantewada and Sukma Districts Achieve Remarkable Progress with Successful NQAS Assessment of 11 Health Facilities

Dantewada and Sukma districts have recorded notable progress with the successful National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) assessment of a total of 11 health facilities. Among them is the Kistaram Sub-Health Centre, located nearly 200 km from the district headquarters, which has maintained service quality despite limited resources.

Raipur, Nov 2025 : The Chhattisgarh government is rapidly implementing its commitment to provide better healthcare services to the people of the state. Under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), significant progress has recently been achieved in the state’s aspirational districts, Dantewada and Sukma. In the last fifteen days, assessments of 11 health institutions have been successfully completed. These assessments were carried out with technical support from the World Health Organization (WHO).

It is noteworthy that four institutions from Sukma district and seven from Dantewada district were included in this assessment. In Sukma, Primary Health Centre Burdi, Sub-Health Centre Kanjipani (Chhindgarh), Kistaram, and Gaganpalli (Konta) were assessed. In Dantewada, Sub-Health Centres Bade Bacheli and Bade Kameli (Dantewada), Primary Health Centre Farsapal, Sub-Health Centre Madse (Geedam), Melawada, Aranpur, and Kodenar (Kuakonda) participated in the NQAS evaluation.

Expanding Quality Services in Remote Regions

Among these, the Kistaram Sub-Health Centre in Konta block has drawn special attention. Located nearly 200 km from the district headquarters and about 120 km from the block headquarters, Kistaram is considered an extremely sensitive zone from a security standpoint. Despite the difficult geographical terrain—accessible only after crossing the borders of two states—health workers posted here have succeeded in maintaining high service quality.

Expanding advanced health services in Naxal-affected and remote areas is not only an administrative effort but also a crucial step toward ensuring health rights. The NQAS assessment of these 11 institutions is clear evidence that whether resources are limited or security challenges persist, unwavering commitment to public health can pave the way for excellence.

According to the government, such initiatives are now enabling easier, more reliable, and quality-based healthcare services for people living in tribal-majority and remote regions.
