Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Hosts Breakfast with D.K. Shivakumar, Signals Unity Ahead of Assembly Session
Bengaluru, Dec 2025 : Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will visit Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s residence tomorrow, December 2, for a breakfast reception, in what is being seen as a move to temporarily resolve differences between the two leaders. The meeting comes ahead of the Assembly session scheduled to begin on December 8 and signals that Siddaramaiah will continue as Chief Minister.
Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar had earlier clashed over the Chief Minister’s post, with tensions spilling into a caste-related dispute, prompting intervention from the Congress high command. The party leadership advised both leaders to discuss their issues privately and work toward a resolution.
Following this guidance, Siddaramaiah invited Shivakumar to his Kaveri residence in Bengaluru on Saturday, hosting a breakfast meeting. The two leaders held a 30-minute conversation, after which they addressed the media together.
Siddaramaiah assured that both he and Shivakumar would work in unison and follow the directions of the Congress leadership. The meeting is being interpreted as a show of unity within the party, aiming to smooth internal differences and present a cohesive front as the Karnataka Assembly session approaches.
