Andhra Pradesh Sees Record Welfare Spending: CM Naidu Highlights ₹50,763 Crore on Pensions, Jobs, and Development Initiatives

Dec 2025 : Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday highlighted the coalition government’s unprecedented welfare and development efforts, stating that ₹50,763 crore has been spent on pensions alone in just 18 months—a figure unmatched anywhere else in India. Speaking at a Praja Vedika program in Gopinathapatnam village in the Unguturu Assembly constituency, Naidu said that these pensions now reach over 6.3 million people every month, 59 percent of whom are women. He added that the people have expressed overwhelming support for the coalition government, entrusting it with responsibility by electing its candidates to 164 assembly seats.

The Chief Minister emphasized the success of the so-called “Super Six” welfare schemes, once criticized by detractors but now widely recognized as “super hits” due to public endorsement. Recalling the legacy of former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, Naidu pointed out that previous governments raised pensions by a mere ₹250, whereas his administration has increased them to ₹4,000 per month in a single step.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive welfare, Naidu said, “Mothers are receiving ₹15,000 per child under Talliki Vandanam, and women have already taken 250 million free bus rides under Stree Shakti.” On the education front, he outlined the massive DSC recruitment drive that filled 16,347 teacher positions, ending a long-standing shortage and strengthening public schooling.

The Chief Minister presented a five-point plan to ensure farmers are protected, emphasizing water security, demand-driven cropping, adoption of agritech, food processing, and government support. “Aquaculture farmers will get electricity at ₹1.50 per unit, backed by a government assistance of ₹850 crore,” he said. “We will complete the Chintalapudi Lift Irrigation Project and ensure purchase payments are credited within 48 hours.”

On investment and employment, Naidu underlined the coalition government’s efforts to create two million jobs by 2029. He cited the ₹13.25 lakh crore investment commitment announced at the recent Visakhapatnam Partnership Summit, with projects worth ₹8 lakh crore already approved. “The arrival of Google’s data center in Visakhapatnam reflects investor confidence in our state,” he said.

Looking ahead, Naidu promised to complete the Polavaram project before the Godavari Pushkaram in 2027 and Phase 1 of Amaravati by 2028, envisioning it as “one of the most beautiful cities in the world.” Contrasting his government’s initiatives with the previous administration, he said, “Earlier, development was stalled and governance declined. We aim to raise per capita income to ₹5.8 lakh and digitize health cards under the Sanjivani Project.”

Expressing confidence in national leadership, Naidu stated, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will become the world’s leading nation by 2047, and Andhra Pradesh will achieve its vision of a Golden State.”

During the event, the Chief Minister personally distributed a pension to a kidney patient and instructed officials to ensure proper medical care. He later visited stalls near the venue and congratulated families identified under the P4 initiative. Ministers Nadendla Manohar, Kolusu Parthasarathy, and other public representatives were present, joining Naidu in highlighting the government’s ongoing welfare and development agenda.
