“PM Modi Visits Wayanad, Pledges Full Support to Kerala”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Wayanad on Saturday to assess the disaster-stricken areas following a massive landslide. During his visit, PM Modi also visited a hospital where he met with the injured victims, creating a series of deeply moving images. These pictures show the Prime Minister’s face marked with concern, as his troubled eyes and evident worry lines reflect his empathy. He is seen sitting beside the injured, holding their hands, and listening attentively to their stories, which underscores his sincere effort to understand their suffering.

One particularly poignant image captures PM Modi comforting an injured child whose face clearly shows signs of pain. The empathy in PM Modi’s expression as he consoles the child has resonated deeply on social media, where users have praised his sensitivity and compassion. The people of Wayanad have also expressed their gratitude, noting that his visit brought them hope and courage during this difficult time. These moments reaffirm PM Modi’s commitment to the welfare of the people, demonstrating that he is a leader who genuinely cares about his countrymen and shares in their suffering.

Many victims were brought to tears upon meeting the Prime Minister, who also appeared visibly saddened as he listened to their stories. Among the survivors who met with PM Modi was 16-year-old Hani, who lost 11 members of her family in the disaster. She, too, broke down while speaking with him. The Prime Minister also met 11-year-old Lavanya, who has lost all her loved ones, and comforted her by gently placing his hand on her head. Additionally, he spoke with 8-year-old Avantika, who has lost all her family members except her grandmother. When one person expressed their distress over losing their home, PM Modi reassured them with the words, “Don’t worry.” He assured all those affected by the tragedy that their problems would be addressed soon.

Accompanied by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, PM Modi reviewed the situation on the ground and emphasized that the entire nation stands with the victims. He assured the survivors that they are not alone in their time of distress, as both the central and state governments are committed to helping them rebuild their lives. PM Modi emphasized the importance of collective efforts in achieving positive outcomes, especially in times of crisis. He also visited relief camps and hospitals, where he heard firsthand accounts from survivors and described the landslides as “nature displaying its furious form.”

The tragic landslide in Wayanad occurred on July 30th, triggered by relentless heavy rains that devastated the villages of Mundakki, Churalmala, and Vellarimala. In response, the Modi government swiftly deployed over 1,200 rescue personnel, including teams from the NDRF, Army, Air Force, Navy, Fire Services, and Civil Defense. More than 100 ambulances and medical teams were also dispatched to the area. As of now, 416 people have been confirmed dead, and 150 remain missing, marking this as one of the most devastating natural disasters in recent times.
