₹36.35 Crore Development Plan Approved for Namokar Teerth in Nashik

Devotees should experience spiritual fulfilment along with satisfaction of visiting a pilgrimage site – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, December 2025 : The development plan worth ₹36.35 crore for the Namokar Teerth, a sacred Jain pilgrimage site at Malsane (Taluka Chandwad) in Nashik district, has been approved at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Sahyadri Guest House.

The Chief Minister directed that all works undertaken under the plan must be of high quality, with no compromise in standards, and should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He emphasised that the works should be carried out in such a manner that devotees, after visiting the site, experience not only spiritual fulfilment but also complete satisfaction from their pilgrimage.

An International Panchkalyanak Pratisthan Mahotsav is scheduled to be held at the site from February 6 to February 25, 2026. The approved plan includes permanent development works worth ₹24.26 crore and works amounting to ₹12.09 crore for organising the festival. Minister of State for Finance and Planning Adv. Ashish Jaiswal and MLA Rahul Aaher were present at the meeting.

Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that devotees visiting Namokar Teerth should not face any inconvenience. All concerned agencies must ensure that every necessary facility is made available at the site. Devotees from across the country and abroad are expected to visit, and therefore the festival should be organised in such a way that every visitor feels satisfied with their experience. He instructed government agencies to work in close coordination for the successful organisation of the festival. Cleanliness-related works should be completed on priority, and care should be taken to ensure that devotees do not face inconvenience in the future. He also directed that water supply scheme works be completed and regular water supply ensured.

The Chief Minister further said that the development of the teerth will generate local employment, and the development plan should be implemented keeping this objective in mind. He noted that the site will emerge as a major religious centre for the Jain community not only in the state but across the country. He said that 10 to 15 lakh devotees from across India are expected to attend the International Panchkalyanak Pratisthan Mahotsav, and appealed to all concerned to make the event a grand success.

During the meeting, Nashik District Collector Ayush Prasad made a presentation via video conferencing. Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Public Works) Manisha Mhaiskar, Secretary (Planning) Shaila A., Nashik Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam, District Planning Officer Vijay Shinde, and office-bearers of Namokar Teerth were also present.

In brief: Namokar Teerth Development Plan

Namokar Teerth is a Jain religious site located on a 40-acre area near Malsane village along the Nashik–Dhule highway. Under the development plan, works will include construction of concrete roads within the teerth premises, protective boundary walls, boating facilities, a helipad, parking arrangements, electricity supply, and sanitation-related infrastructure. Additionally, for the International Panchkalyanak Pratisthan Mahotsav to be held from February 6 to February 25, 2026, works such as installation of water tanks, construction of 450-unit toilet blocks, electrification, CCTV systems, a control room, and temporary medical units will be undertaken.
