The Valour and Sacrifice of the Sahibzadas Must Reach Every Citizen: CM Sai Stories of the Sacrifice of Sikh Heroes Included in the School Curriculum
Chief Minister Shri Sai Pays Tribute to the Martyrdom of the Sahibzadas, Offers Prayers at the Railway Station Gurdwara on Veer Bal Diwas
Raipur, December 2025 : On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited the Railway Station Gurdwara in the state capital this evening, where he paid homage to the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas and bowed his head in reverence.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that from the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, to the tenth Guru, all Sikh Gurus and their families made immense sacrifices for the protection of the nation. Sikh warriors have made invaluable contributions to Indian history through their courage and devotion.
Veer Bal Diwas commemorates the extraordinary bravery and supreme sacrifice of the younger sons of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. The martyrdom of Sahibzada Fateh Singh and Sahibzada Zorawar Singh is remembered every year on December 26, a tradition initiated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This day has been observed continuously in a grand and dignified manner. At a very young age, the Sahibzadas refused to bow before injustice and displayed exceptional courage in upholding faith and truth. Their lives teach us that truth, bravery, and self-respect are the greatest strengths.
The Chief Minister further stated that, in response to the demand of the Sikh community, the state government has included the stories of the Sahibzadas’ sacrifices in the school curriculum. These lessons will be taught from Class III onwards. This initiative will ensure that future generations learn about the sacrifices and courage of the Sahibzadas. He added that such heroic sacrifices did not always receive their rightful place in history, and through the declaration of Veer Bal Diwas, the government is working to take the message of their valour and courage to every section of society.
On this occasion, CREDA Chairman Shri Bhupendra Savanni, Naan Chairman Shri Sanjay Shrivastava, Minority Commission Chairman Shri Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, Gurdwara Management Committee Chairman Shri Surender Singh Chhabra, along with a large number of representatives from the Sikh community, were present.
