Union Forest Minister Bhupender Yadav Holds Meeting on Alwar Tiger Marathon, Calls for Public Participation in Holistic Development

Jaipur, Jan 2026: Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, held a detailed meeting in Alwar on Saturday regarding the upcoming International Alwar Tiger Marathon on February 8 and the holistic development of Alwar.

During the meeting, Shri Yadav emphasized that sustained efforts are underway to make Alwar a leader in development, tourism, sports, and education. He highlighted the importance of coordination and active participation from all sections of society to achieve these goals. As part of this vision, the first-ever international Alwar Tiger Marathon will be organized on February 8, featuring renowned national and international athletes, with the entire district serving as host. He urged administration, social organizations, industry associations, hotel groups, and citizens to collaborate for the successful conduct of the event.

Shri Yadav also discussed plans to strengthen road and rail infrastructure, expand dairies, empower women through self-help groups, enhance sports facilities, implement e-library initiatives, improve city cleanliness and beautification, and upgrade citizens’ basic amenities. Suggestions received during the meeting were noted for further action.

In addition, he met with principals of government colleges to deliberate on the development of academic, physical, and sports facilities, including initiatives like e-Gurukul. He directed the proper utilization of college development funds and noted that development works would be carried out using central and state government schemes along with other funding sources.

The meeting was attended by administrative officials, paramilitary officers, college principals, industry and hotel association representatives, social organizations, and other prominent citizens, reinforcing a collaborative approach to Alwar’s holistic growth and the successful hosting of the Tiger Marathon.
