Lawngtlai DC Holds Coordination Meeting

Lawngtlai, Jan 2026: Today, Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pu Donny Lalruatsanga held a coordination meeting in his office chamber, which was attended by Sr. Superintendent of Police Pu PC Lalchunglura.

During the meeting, Pu Donny Lalruatsanga reviewed the achievements of the past year and discussed plans to improve coordination with the police, NGOs, churches, and local communities to strengthen overall law and order in the district. The meeting also focused on ensuring that the upcoming New Year is celebrated safely and securely.

The DC highlighted several initiatives planned for 2026 across Lawngtlai town, including measures to improve traffic management and stricter monitoring of foreigners in the area. He also mentioned the “Bawrhsap Award”, which will recognize excellence in community service, to be presented on Republic Day. Various development projects, such as the Cheural Tlâng (Khaw za lang tlang) and Paithar Tlâng, were also discussed as part of efforts to enhance local infrastructure. Additionally, steps to improve public welfare and citizen services are expected to be implemented by January 11, 2026.

Sr. Superintendent of Police Pu PC Lalchunglura highlighted the district’s law enforcement achievements over the past year, including successful operations and effective collaboration with NGOs. He reported that four cases were resolved in coordination with NGOs during the year, and a total of 65 cases were handled in 2025, compared to the previous year, 2024. Programs like Operation Jericho, conducted in partnership with NGOs and MJA, contributed significantly to maintaining law and order, and similar initiatives are planned to continue in the current year.

Pu Donny Lalruatsanga emphasized that close cooperation with NGOs and civil society organizations is key to achieving more effective governance and strengthening public trust. He further directed that the efforts made last year should serve as a foundation to expand and enhance law enforcement and community engagement initiatives throughout 2026.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain strong coordination between district administration, police, NGOs, and community groups to ensure safety, order, and continued development in Lawngtlai.
