Regional Roundtable on Digital Health and AI Held in Rajasthan, Emphasizes Ethical and Evidence-Based Expansion

Jaipur, January 2026: IIHMR Startups, Jaipur organized a one-day regional roundtable conference on “Rajasthan Digital Health Research and AI Implementation Strategy” on Thursday. The conference was chaired by Dr. Amit Yadav, Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Rajasthan.

Experts from government, academia, healthcare, industry, civil society, and startup companies participated in the conference. Through discussions and consultations, the participants deliberated on preparing a concrete action plan aligned with the state’s health priorities.

Chairing the conference, Dr. Amit Yadav emphasized aligning digital health and AI initiatives with Rajasthan’s public health priorities. He highlighted ground-level challenges and implementation realities, stating that technological innovations must be harmonized with system readiness and ethical standards. He also discussed opportunities for government support to enhance skills within the state’s healthcare services.

During the technical session, Mr. Avinash, CTO of B. Lal Clinical Laboratory, discussed the limited impact of AI in healthcare. He identified poor data quality, lack of standardization, and integration challenges as major barriers to AI adoption.

Dr. P.R. Sodani, President of IIHMR University and Director of IIHMR Foundation, emphasized the need for robust governance frameworks to ensure responsible AI. He also highlighted the role of academic and research institutions in this effort.

Various sessions of the conference were conducted by senior IIHMR University faculty members Dr. Swapnil Garhwe, Dr. Piyusha Majumdar, Dr. Ritu Vashisth, Dr. Vinod Kumar S.V., and Dr. Kajal Sitalani. The IIHMR Startups team, including Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Mr. Kushal Parekh, and Mr. Shivam Verma, played a key role in the successful coordination of the event.
