‘White Coat Love Jihadi’ Arrested in UP for Rape, Coercion, and Forced Religious Conversion

Lucknow, January 2026 : Under the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh Police continue to take strict action against illegal religious conversions. The Lucknow police have arrested Dr. Ramizuddin Nayak, alias Ramiz, dubbed the “White Coat Love Jihadi,” for allegedly raping an MD Pathology student at KGMU under the pretext of marriage and pressuring her to convert her religion. The UP government had announced a ₹50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

According to police, a case was registered at Chowk Police Station on December 23, 2025, following the victim’s complaint. The victim stated that Dr. Ramiz lured her with promises of marriage, raped her over several months, forced an abortion without her consent, and later pressured her for religious conversion.

Investigation revealed that the accused allegedly used the same method with another medical student, committing rape, forcing abortion, and coercing religious conversion to facilitate marriage. The accused’s parents, Salimuddin and Khateja, had already been arrested and are in judicial custody. Other accomplices have also been identified, and more charges have been added to the case.

Acting under CM Yogi Adityanath’s zero-tolerance policy, the Joint Police Commissioner (Crime & Headquarters) intensified the search for the fugitive and announced a reward. Based on intelligence and electronic evidence, Chowk Police and the West Lucknow Surveillance Team jointly arrested Dr. Ramiz near City Station, Lucknow Gate, on Friday afternoon.

Police stated that the accused is a cunning criminal who misused his identity as a doctor. Investigations into other cases involving him are ongoing, and further legal action is in progress.

The Yogi government has made it clear that offenders exploiting the guise of white coats to commit crimes will not be spared. Women’s safety remains the top priority under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
