Raj Thackeray Hails ‘Shivshakti’ Fight, Vows Stronger Push for Marathi Cause After Civic Polls
Mumbai, Jan 2026 : Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Saturday congratulated the newly elected corporators of the MNS and Shiv Sena, describing the recently concluded municipal elections as a courageous battle of “Shivshakti” against overwhelming financial power and the might of the ruling establishment.
Addressing party workers and supporters, Thackeray said the elections were far from easy and praised grassroots workers for standing their ground despite adverse conditions. He said the contest was not merely political but symbolic of a larger struggle, where regional pride and ideology were pitched against money power and state machinery. According to him, the commitment shown by party workers deserved the highest respect.
Admitting that the MNS could not meet its electoral expectations, Thackeray said the party accepts the verdict with humility but not defeatism. He stressed that the elected corporators would play the role of vigilant watchdogs in their respective wards, raising their voice strongly if the Marathi community faces injustice or neglect.
Reiterating the party’s ideological foundation, Thackeray said the MNS exists to safeguard the rights, language, dignity, and cultural pride of the Marathi manus and to work toward a strong and prosperous Maharashtra. He described political struggles of this nature as long-term battles that require patience, resilience, and continuous effort rather than instant victories.
Thackeray also underlined the need for honest introspection, stating that the party would carefully analyse where it fell short and identify missed opportunities. This process, he said, would guide the MNS in strengthening its future political strategy.
Warning against possible threats to Marathi interests, particularly in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Thackeray said ruling forces and their allies would not hesitate to exploit power. He urged party workers to remain united and alert, asserting that elections may come and go, but the Marathi spirit remains alive.
Concluding his address with determination, Thackeray called upon workers to return to the ground and rebuild the party organisation from the grassroots, signalling the beginning of a renewed phase for the MNS.
