Chief Minister Yogi Takes Cognisance of Noida Incident
A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the incident on the Chief Minister’s directions.
The SIT has been formed under the leadership of the ADG, Meerut Zone, with the Divisional Commissioner, Meerut, and the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) also included as members.
The SIT will complete its investigation within five days and submit its report to the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Yogi has directed that accident-prone areas across the state be identified and that swift remedial action be ensured.
The Chief Minister has also instructed that steps be taken statewide to ensure that no such incident occurs in the future.
Lucknow, January 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday took cognisance of the Noida incident and issued instructions for immediate action. Taking the death of Yuvraj Mehta seriously, he ordered the constitution of a three-member SIT under the leadership of the ADG, Meerut Zone, to investigate the incident. Apart from the ADG, Meerut Zone, the Divisional Commissioner, Meerut, and the Chief Engineer, PWD, have also been included in the team. The officers will submit their report to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath within five days.
At the same time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly directed that accident-prone locations across the state be identified and promptly addressed. He emphasized that it must be ensured under all circumstances that such incidents do not recur anywhere in the state.
Notably, the incident occurred around midnight on January 16. Engineer Yuvraj was working as a software engineer in Gurugram and was heading towards Tata Society in Sector-150 when his vehicle suddenly fell into a deep, water-filled drain, leading to his death. Chief Minister Yogi also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
