Google to Invest in IT, ITES and Data Centres in Madhya Pradesh

On Tuesday in Davos, officials of the Government of Madhya Pradesh held a meeting with Shri Sanjay Gupta, President, Asia Pacific region of Google, to hold detailed discussions on investment opportunities in the IT, ITES sector and existing/proposed data centre projects in the state. Shri Gupta expressed keen interest in investing in IT, ITES and data centres in Madhya Pradesh. The meeting was attended by the Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Rakesh Shukla, along with other officials.

On behalf of Google, possibilities of implementing innovation and digital solutions in the agriculture and education sectors through Gemini AI were also discussed.

During the meeting, the state government informed about its plan to formulate a green energy–based policy to ensure adequate and sustainable power supply for IT and data centre projects. The state’s capability to meet the specific requirements of global companies like Google, its supportive policy framework, and its collaborative approach were also highlighted.

Shri Sanjay Gupta, President, Asia Pacific region, Google, expressed his agreement to extend cooperation towards developing Madhya Pradesh as an emerging technology hub through IT infrastructure, digital innovation and skill development.
