Raipur, January 2026: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the inauguration of RADA Auto Expo-2026, organized by the Raipur Automobile Dealers Association at Shri Ram Business Park, Raipur. On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to continuous development across all sectors. He noted that the purchasing power of citizens has increased, bringing vibrancy to local markets. He also appealed to the public to strictly follow traffic rules to prevent road accidents.

During the event, the Chief Minister launched vehicles including Yamaha XSR-155, Tata Sierra, and Mahindra 7XO. He also released the book “Money Matters.”

Addressing the expo, CM Sai highlighted that in the past two years, farmers in the state have been receiving fair prices for paddy and are benefiting from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He further noted that revisions in GST rates have reduced prices of many items, providing significant relief to the public. During interactions at various locations, people shared that GST rate reductions have lowered bike prices by ₹15,000–₹25,000, while the price of harvesters has decreased by nearly ₹2 lakh.

CM Sai also stated that the new industrial policy of the state is gaining appreciation nationally and internationally. Over the past year, proposals worth nearly ₹8 lakh crore in investments have been received, and work on several projects has already started. Referring to the previous Auto Expo, he said the government had offered a 50% discount on road tax, which benefited many buyers. At that time, the target was to sell 25,000 vehicles, but around 29,000 vehicles were sold, generating ₹800 crore in GST revenue for the government and ₹129 crore for the Transport Department, while providing direct benefits to citizens.

This year, the RADA Auto Expo has been organized on a larger scale. The expo area has been expanded with over 300 stalls, attracting entrepreneurs and companies from across the state. CM Sai welcomed all participants and stated that around 2,000 vehicles have already been registered on the first day, expressing confidence that the target of 50,000 vehicle sales will be achieved. He suggested that the Auto Expo should be held annually on a similar scale.

Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap, in his address, stated that the 9th edition of RADA Auto Expo is not only a vehicle showcase but also a symbol of employment generation and the growth of the auto sector in the state. He highlighted that the 50% road tax concession benefits both customers and small to medium businesses, while improved road connectivity has boosted two-wheeler and four-wheeler sales even in rural areas. The auto sector in Chhattisgarh continues to grow steadily.

Notably, the state cabinet has approved a 50% lifetime road tax discount on vehicles sold during the 9th Auto Expo in Raipur from January 20 to February 5, 2026. This discount will be applied at the time of vehicle registration post-sale, offering direct relief on motor vehicle taxes. Necessary instructions have been issued to ensure that the benefit reaches vehicle dealers across the state.

During the event, CM Sai also signed the Road Safety Pledge and appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules. He additionally unveiled the poster for the upcoming Women’s Marathon on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The event was attended by Transport Secretary S. Prakash, Transport Commissioner D. Ravishankar, CAT Vice-Chairman Amar Parwani, Rajkumar Singhania, Ravindra Bhasin, Vivek Garg, and numerous members of the Raipur Automobile Dealers Association.
