Varanasi, Sept 2027 : A month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and 25 years in public life will begin in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Thursday, with around 500 bikers embarking on a 22-day journey from Kashi to Vadnagar in Gujarat, his birthplace.

The bikers, travelling on 250 motorcycles, will cover 10 states during the journey. The campaign is part of the BJP’s nationwide outreach programme scheduled from September 17 to October 17. The rally will be flagged off from the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

As part of the opening programme, 51 bikers will reach Lalita Ghat around 10 a.m. They will collect Gangajal amid the sound of conch shells and performances by a damru group before proceeding to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for prayers and a ritual water offering.

The 22-day journey is scheduled to pass through 193 districts, 773 tehsils and 1,159 villages, including 50 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Police arrangements have also been made along the route, with personnel expected to escort the bikers during the journey.

An exhibition highlighting Modi’s 25 years in public life will also be organised at the Rudraksh Convention Centre. The programme will be attended by several senior leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak.

Yogi Adityanath and Rajnath Singh are also scheduled to participate in religious programmes at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, including Maha Rudrabhishek.

The bike journey is being presented as a youth-focused component of the broader Seva Sankalp campaign, with organisers seeking to connect young participants with the Prime Minister’s 25-year public-life journey and the themes of public service and development. More than 1,000 youths are expected to participate in the wider Varanasi-Vadnagar Seva Yatra initiatives.

The campaign comes ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, when political parties are expected to intensify outreach among different sections of the electorate, including young voters. The Seva Sankalp programme will continue with service and public-engagement activities across the country through October 17.
