Patna, Sept 2026 : Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday attended the Shri Ganesh Utsav Puja organised by the Maharashtra Mandal on Serpentine Road in Patna. On the occasion, he performed prayers and sought Lord Ganesha’s blessings for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the people of Bihar.
Members of the Maharashtra Mandal welcomed Choudhary by presenting him with a bouquet, angavastram and a memento. He was also honoured by being presented with a traditional turban.
The Chief Minister congratulated members of the Maharashtra Mandal for organising the Shri Ganesh Utsav Puja. Extending his greetings to the people on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Choudhary said, “May Lord Ganesha bring happiness, peace, prosperity and success into everyone’s lives, and may Bihar continue to progress on the path of development.”
According to the CMO, Civil Aviation Department Secretary Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department Secretary Tirsat Kapil Ashok, Chief Minister’s Secretariat Joint Secretary Shrikant Kundlik Khandekar, members of the Maharashtra Mandal, other dignitaries and devotees were present on the occasion.
Choudhary Inaugurates Orientation Programme for 2,451 Assistant Professors
Earlier on Sunday, according to the Chief Minister’s Office, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated an orientation programme for 2,451 newly appointed assistant professors recruited for 211 new degree colleges in the state. The programme was held at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna and began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhary congratulated the newly appointed assistant professors and urged them to work with dedication. He said they had an important responsibility to strengthen Bihar’s education system and shape the future of the coming generation.
He said the role of teachers is not limited to imparting subject knowledge but also extends to shaping students’ personalities, thinking and future. Quality education and the expansion of educational opportunities, he added, would provide a new direction to Bihar’s youth.
Choudhary said Bihar has been a land of knowledge since ancient times, with great centres of learning such as Nalanda and Vikramshila showing the path of knowledge to the world.
He stressed the need to carry forward this glorious legacy through modern technology, quality education and improved academic infrastructure.
Highlighting the state government’s focus on education infrastructure, he said Bihar had become the first state in the country to start 211 degree colleges on a single day.
He added that the state’s education infrastructure would be further expanded in the coming days so that more and more students could access higher education facilities.
