Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that as the use of digital systems is rapidly expanding in everyday life, challenges in the sector are also increasing. Constant vigilance is essential to ensure that digital and cyber systems continue to serve the interests and welfare of society. This requires expanding education, training and research activities in the fields of cybersecurity and forensics. He said the establishment of the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, was an important step in this direction. The MoU between the National Forensic Sciences University and the state government, along with the Relationship Agreement between the National Forensic Sciences University and Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, will help expand cyber security awareness and expertise in digital forensics.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views at the exchange of the MoU between the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar and Madhya Bharat Technological and Skill University, Bhopal, at the Mantralaya. Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar was specially present on the occasion.
Training Programmes to Begin Soon
The MoU signed between the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar and the state government will facilitate training and skill development of officers and employees of the
Prison Headquarters and Police Headquarters in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The training programmes will commence shortly. A Relationship Agreement was also signed between the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, and Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Bhopal, for the smooth functioning and coordination of the university’s Bhopal campus.Commissioner, Technical Education, Shri Awadhesh Sharma; Director, National Forensic Sciences University, Bhopal, Shri Rakesh Kunwar; and Vice-Chancellor, RGPV, Shri Alok Sharma were present during the MoU and Relationship Agreement signing ceremony at the Mantralaya.
B.Tech in Cybersecurity and M.Sc. in Digital Forensics & Cyber Security Offered at Bhopal Campus
The National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, was established by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, on September 28, 2020. The university’s mandate includes education, training, research, extension and services in the fields of security and defence. Regional campuses of the university have been established in seven states across the country, and around 40,000 personnel have been trained so far.
The state Cabinet had decided on July 1, 2025, to establish a campus of the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, in Bhopal. The permanent campus will be developed on 10acres of land available within the Rajiv Gandhi Technological University (RGPV) campus in Bhopal. At present, RGPV has provided a temporary building for the university. The Bhopal campus commenced operations on September 22, 2025, with one undergraduate and one postgraduate programme. Currently, 84 students are enrolled at the campus. The campus offers a B.Tech in Cybersecurity and an M.Sc. in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security.
