- Says book provides an insightful analysis of human rights in governance and contemporary times
Governor Kavinder Gupta today released the book Human Rights in Kautilya’s Arthashastra authored by retired Principal Dr. Jayant Kumar Sharma at Lok Bhavan, Shimla.
Appreciating the author’s efforts, the Governor said that Dr. Jayant Kumar Sharma had undertaken an in-depth study of human rights in various aspects relating to the state, governance and science and presented a comprehensive and meaningful analysis of the principles and measures for their protection.
The Governor said that the book also highlights the status and evolution of human rights in the modern era. He expressed hope that the book would contribute to a better understanding of the relevance of human rights in the context of governance and society.
Kavinder Gupta lauded Dr. Jayant Kumar Sharma’s contribution to literature and academic discourse and expressed the hope that he would continue his literary and scholarly work with the same commitment in the future.
On the occasion, Dr. Prem Lal Gautam presented his books ‘Chetna Ke Unmesh’ and ‘Kalyani’ to the Governor.
Rajinder Bhardwaj, Amita Bhardwaj and Vimla Sharma and were also present on the occasion.
