Lucknow, Sept 2026 : The 85th edition of the monthly Dadi-Nani Ki Kahani (Grandmother’s Story) series, organised by the Lok Sanskriti Shodh Sansthan, was held on Wednesday at Government Girls Inter College in Vikas Nagar. The programme aimed at promoting moral values and good conduct among children. Girls at the school listened to a story narrated by Storyman Jitesh Srivastava, who inspired them to work with honesty, hard work and dedication through the story of Runnu and Suhani. After listening to the story, the children answered questions related to its message and pledged to study with greater concentration and dedication.
The programme began with pronunciation practice of difficult sentences. This was followed by a story highlighting how success can be achieved even in adverse circumstances through hard work, dedication and self-confidence. Through the story, efforts were made to develop an understanding of good values and life lessons among the children.
Archana Gupta recited the poem Padhna Bahut Zaroori Hai (Reading is Very Important), which the children repeated along with her. Raj Verma highlighted the importance and usefulness of books and encouraged the students to develop the habit of reading books regularly.
School Principal Dr Kusum Verma welcomed the storytelling team. The programme was attended by Lok Sanskriti Shodh Sansthan Secretary Dr Sudha Dwivedi, theatre artiste Chandrabhash, Dr S.K. Gopal and Ambrish Singh.
School teachers Rashmi Mishra, Manisha Saxena, Meenakshi Srivastava and Seema Verma, along with other teaching and non-teaching staff, were also present.
The programme sought to use storytelling as an engaging medium to encourage children to develop positive values, confidence, discipline and a regular interest in studies and reading.
