Election official seeks information after voter ID found in toilet flush tank
Mumbai, Nov 26: The Sub-District Election Officer has appealed for information after reports and a video clip circulated in some print and electronic media alleging that a voter identity card was found in a toilet flush tank in the Andheri area of suburban Mumbai.
The circulated video clip is inconclusive and does not make the facts clear. The concerned media outlets have admitted that the clip was picked up from social media. On inquiry, the precise location of the incident could not be established. Consequently, based on the report, an FIR (No. 1218/2025) was registered at D.N. Nagar police station on November 20, 2025, against unknown persons.
The Sub-District Election Officer has urged any citizen who has information related to the video clip or the incident to come forward and report it so a full investigation can be carried out.
