Efforts to Seek Death Penalty for Accused in Nasrapur Case: Minister Aditi Tatkare; Aid for Victim’s Family Announced

Mumbai, May 2026 : Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development Aditi Tatkare has said that all efforts will be made to ensure the harshest punishment, including the death penalty, for the accused in the shocking Nasrapur incident involving a minor girl.

Following the incident, which has been described as inhuman and deeply disturbing, the minister immediately contacted the victim’s family and has remained in continuous touch with them. She assured that the state government stands firmly with the family during this difficult time.

Tatkare stated that financial assistance will be provided to the victim’s family under the Manodhairya Scheme, which is designed to support victims of such crimes. In addition to financial aid, the government will ensure that the family receives necessary emotional and psychological support.

She also informed that a special public prosecutor will be appointed to handle the case and make every possible effort to secure the death penalty for the accused through due legal process.

Through local MLA Shankar Mandekar, the minister interacted with villagers and reassured them that the government is committed to delivering justice swiftly. She emphasized that the case will be heard in a fast-track court to ensure a speedy trial and timely resolution.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, and Minister Aditi Tatkare have jointly assured the victim’s family and local residents that justice will be served. An official communication in this regard has also been issued to the family through the district administration.

Meanwhile, the Women and Child Development Department has been directed to expedite the process of providing both financial and psychological assistance under the Manodhairya Scheme. Officials have been instructed to ensure that all necessary support reaches the family without delay.

The state government reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights of women and children and ensuring strict action against those responsible for such crimes.
