Gujarat Titans Crush Rajasthan Royals by 77 Runs to Climb to Second Spot
Delhi, May 2026 : Gujarat Titans produced a dominant all-round performance to register a commanding 77-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2026 clash in Jaipur on Saturday.
Batting first at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Gujarat Titans posted a massive total of 229/4 in their allotted 20 overs after an explosive batting display led by their top order.
The Gujarat innings got off to a flying start as openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan struck impressive half-centuries and dominated the Rajasthan bowling attack from the outset. Their aggressive approach laid a solid platform for a huge total.
After the opening stand, Gujarat’s middle order maintained the momentum. Washington Sundar played a valuable late cameo with powerful hitting, while Rahul Tewatia added quick runs in the final overs to help Gujarat finish strongly at 229/4.
Chasing the daunting target, Rajasthan Royals looked under pressure right from the beginning. Despite a fiery innings from young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi that briefly raised hopes of a fightback, the hosts failed to build any substantial partnerships.

Rajasthan continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and never looked in control of the chase. Gujarat’s bowling attack kept the pressure firmly on the opposition throughout the innings.
Star spinner Rashid Khan delivered a match-winning spell, claiming four wickets and dismantling Rajasthan’s batting line-up. Fast bowler Jason Holder also played a key role by picking up three wickets.
Rajasthan Royals were eventually bowled out for 152 in just 16.3 overs, handing Gujarat Titans a convincing 77-run victory.
With this comprehensive win, Gujarat Titans climbed to the second spot on the IPL points table. The match highlighted Gujarat’s excellent balance as the team excelled in both batting and bowling departments to secure a memorable victory.
