PM Surya Ghar Yojana Transforms India into Global Clean Energy Powerhouse: CM Dr. Yadav

PM Surya Ghar Yojana Lights Up Nearly 1.3 Lakh Homes in MP

Bhopal, May 2026 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the ‘PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana’ is establishing India as a global renewable energy powerhouse. The rapid strides being taken by the Central Government towards an energy-self-reliant and empowered India have yielded remarkable results, with rooftop solar panels now installed in 40 lakh homes across the country. Of these, 1,29,971 households are located in Madhya Pradesh. These households are now powered by clean and renewable energy, helping them reduce electricity costs and move towards energy self-reliance. The solar installations in Madhya Pradesh are collectively generating more than 456 MW of clean solar power.

According to the National Portal of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, implemented by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, a total of 1,34,436 families in Madhya Pradesh have benefited from the scheme so far. Subsidies amounting to ₹901.92 crore have already been disbursed to beneficiaries in the state.

The Madhya Pradesh Department of New and Renewable Energy has set a target of covering 6 lakh households under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, enabling them to benefit from solar energy. Efforts are being accelerated to achieve this target, and the department has received 2,04,601 applications under the scheme so far.
