International Yoga Day to Be Organised on Theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’; Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations

Jaipur, June 2026: The 12th International Yoga Day will be celebrated across Rajasthan on June 21 under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” The programme will be held from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. in every district, block, Gram Panchayat, government and private educational institution, and Ayushman Arogya Mandir across the state.

To ensure the successful organisation of the event, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas chaired a review meeting at the Secretariat on Monday. Secretaries of various departments and all District Collectors participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed all departments to provide necessary support for the large-scale celebration of Yoga Day and to ensure maximum participation and registration on the Yoga Sangam portal. He instructed departments to encourage extensive registration and active involvement in the event.

Srinivas also directed that all government and private schools and colleges remain open on June 21 for Yoga Day activities. He instructed that yoga programmes be organised in all medical and nursing colleges, as well as in prisons and police stations. Authorities were further asked to register participants on the Yoga Sangam portal and upload participant numbers and photographs after the completion of the programmes.

The Chief Secretary emphasized that Yoga Day events should be organised not only at district headquarters but also at major tourist destinations and UNESCO World Heritage Sites across Rajasthan. He said efforts should be made to motivate a large number of local residents to participate in the celebrations at every location.

Considering that the NEET examination is also scheduled on June 21, Srinivas directed District Collectors to ensure that Yoga Day programmes are conducted with necessary precautions so that both events can be organised smoothly, safely and successfully without causing inconvenience.

He further instructed all participating departments and District Collectors to issue required guidelines for Yoga Day celebrations and appoint nodal officers to coordinate preparations and implementation. Effective coordination among departments was stressed to ensure seamless execution of the statewide programme.

The Chief Secretary urged officials to organise the event in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, ensuring wide public participation and extensive outreach. He called for making this year’s celebration even more successful and comprehensive than previous editions.

Referring to Rajasthan’s strong performance in Yoga Day celebrations in recent years, Srinivas encouraged officials to work collectively so that the state once again emerges among the leading performers in the country in organising International Yoga Day events.

The meeting focused on ensuring maximum public engagement, institutional participation and effective coordination among departments to make the 2026 International Yoga Day a landmark event across Rajasthan.
