MLA Inspects Tourism Development Works at Nanak Shahi Math in Lucknow
Lucknow, June 2026 : MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora on Friday inspected the ongoing beautification and tourism development works at the historic Nanak Shahi Math in Deendayal Nagar, Khadra, located in Lucknow North Assembly constituency.
The Tourism Department is carrying out the project at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 1 crore with the aim of enhancing the religious site’s infrastructure and improving facilities for pilgrims and tourists.
During the inspection, Dr. Bora reviewed the progress of various construction works, including a pilgrims’ hall, toilet facilities, and other visitor amenities being developed as part of the project. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high construction standards and directed the executing agency to ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising on quality.
He said that the development of Nanak Shahi Math would not only improve the experience of devotees visiting the shrine but would also strengthen the site’s appeal as a prominent religious and tourism destination in the state. He stressed that timely completion of the project would enable pilgrims and tourists to benefit from enhanced facilities at the earliest.
The inspection was attended by Acharya Mahant Dharmendra Das Ji Maharaj of Nanak Shahi Math, Joint Director of the Tourism Department Preeti Srivastava, representatives of the executing agency, and several other dignitaries associated with the project.
The beautification initiative forms part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s efforts to preserve important religious and cultural heritage sites while promoting tourism through improved infrastructure and visitor-friendly amenities. The project is expected to provide a cleaner, more accessible, and aesthetically enhanced environment for the large number of devotees who visit the Math throughout the year.
