Chief Minister Dr. Yadav hoisted the National Flag on banks of Shipra in Ujjain

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across the state with great pomp and enthusiasm. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hoisted the National Flag and took the salute at the Republic Day ceremony held at Kartik Mela Ground in Ujjain. He also honoured freedom fighters and ‘Lok Tantra Rakshaks’. On this occasion, captivating cultural performances imbued with patriotism and centred on Simhastha were presented. The Chief Minister also felicitated officers and employees for outstanding work, as well as teams presenting cultural events and departmental tableaux.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s wife Smt. Seema Yadav, Member of Parliament Shri Anil Firojiya, Rajya Sabha MP, Balyogi Shri Umesh Nath Ji Maharaj, MLA Shri Anil Jain Kaluhheda, Mayor, Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Municipal Corporation Chairperson, Smt. Kalawati Yadav, religious leaders of various faiths, public representatives, officers, students and a large number of citizens were present at the ceremony.

Tricolour Balloons Released, Message of Patriotism and Public Service Delivered

At the Golden Ghat on the banks of the Shipra River near Kartik Mela Ground, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released tricolour balloons into the open sky, conveying a message of patriotism and public service. On this occasion, Home Guards and SDRF personnel, holding the National Flag on more than 40 boats decorated in tricolour hues, sang patriotic songs in the waters of Maa Shipra. The ghat was decorated with a tricolour theme, and an impressive Bhagoria dance performance was presented by tribal Bhil artists.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Republic Day and addressed the citizens. He said that the spirit of patriotism and pride for the nation is becoming stronger in the hearts and minds of the people. Due to the leadership qualities of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India’s global stature is increasing worldwide. He paid homage at the feet of the immortal martyrs who cheerfully embraced the gallows for the freedom of Mother India.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Simhastha will be organised in Ujjain in 2028, and keeping this grand and divine event in view, the Republic Day event was held on the sacred banks of the Shipra River. Addressing the state-level Republic Day event at Kartik Mela Ground, the Chief Minister hoisted the National Flag amid an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and fervour and took the salute at the parade. Attractive tableaux by various government departments were showcased, and schoolchildren presented colourful cultural events.

Ten Multi-Purpose Activities Undertaken for ‘Samriddh Kasan, Samriddh Pradesh’

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has called for the development of the Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata and Nari, and the Madhya Pradesh Government is working with firm resolve. To realise the mantra of GYAN, the state government has launched four missions—Yuva Shakti Mission, Garib Kalyan Mission, Kisan Kalyan Mission, and Naari Sashaktikaran Mission.

Recognising that India’s economy is agriculture-based, multi-dimensional efforts have been undertaken to bring smiles to the lives of farmers. The state has decided to observe the year 2026 as the ‘Krishak Kalyan Varsh’. The budget for the agriculture and allied sectors, which stood at ₹600 crore in 2002–03, has been increased to over ₹27,050 crore in 2024–25. Ten multi-purpose activities have been included to advance the vision of ‘Samriddh Kisan, Samriddh Pradesh’.

Farmers are being encouraged to cultivate horticultural crops along with major crops. The state is set to become the country’s dairy capital in the coming years. The budget for gaushalas has been increased from ₹250 crore to ₹505 crore this financial year, with around 3,000 gaushalas caring for nearly 4.75 lakh cows.

Due to better management of fish production, the state received an excellence award in a special category. During the Rabi marketing year 2025–26, wheat was procured from farmers at ₹2,600 per quintal, and a bonus amount of ₹1,360 crore was paid. Soybean farmers benefited under the Bhavantar Scheme, with over seven lakh farmers receiving approximately ₹1,300 crore.

Madhya Pradesh’s Participation in the World Economic Forum is Significant

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that through the Jan Vishwas Acts of 2024 and 2025, provisions of several laws have been simplified and unnecessary regulations removed, giving new momentum to industrial development. The year 2025 was observed as the Industry and Employment Year. One-third of the investment proposals received at the Global Investors Summit have already been grounded.

Investment proposals from entrepreneurs in the UK, Germany, Japan, Spain, and Dubai are being translated into opportunities for investment and employment. Madhya Pradesh’s participation in the recent World Economic Forum meeting in Switzerland was significant. Assistance of over ₹1,522 crore was provided under the industrial promotion policy in the year 2025–26.

A major achievement was the laying of the foundation stone of the PM Mitra Park in Dhar district. In 2025, 1,092 industrial plots were allotted through an online process. The MSME Development Policy and Industrial Land and Building Allotment and Management Rules were implemented for holistic industrial growth. Through the single-window system, more than 2,300 industrial units have received assistance exceeding ₹742 crore. The Chief Minister said industries are like temples that bless society with employment.

Public Awareness Campaign against Substance Abuse Underway

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has envisioned a developed India by 2047. Law and order have been strengthened in Madhya Pradesh, with priority given to controlling criminal elements. Naxalism has been eliminated in the state ahead of the timeline set by the central government. A public awareness campaign against substance abuse is being conducted across the state.

Youth Establishing Their Talent in Japan and Other Countries

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that over 11 lakh houses were approved last year under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with more than 4 lakh already completed. Under the Mukhyamantri Majra-Tola Scheme, road connectivity work has begun for over 20,000 habitations, with approval of more than ₹21,000 crore.

In the past two years, scholarships worth ₹2,250 crore have been provided to 50 lakh Scheduled Caste students. Students from these communities are studying in institutions such as IIMs, IITs, NITs, and NLIU. The government is also facilitating overseas education for postgraduate courses.

Around two lakh tribal students of Classes 11 and 12 are benefiting from scholarship schemes, while 25,000 students are enrolled in 63 Eklavya Model Residential Schools. Twenty-one youths from the OBC category have also been employed abroad. Youth from Madhya Pradesh are making the nation proud with their talent in Japan and other countries.

Target to Convert 3 Million Electric Pumps into Solar Pumps

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh has become fully self-reliant in the power sector. Non-agricultural consumers receive 24-hour electricity, while agricultural consumers receive nearly 10 hours of power daily. Renewable energy capacity has increased from 491 MW in 2012 to 9,508 MW.

The state’s first energy storage project is commencing in Morena, which has been praised by the World Bank. A target has been set to convert 3 million electric pumps into solar pumps.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Madhya Pradesh ranks among the top three states in terms of completed houses. Of the 9.5 lakh sanctioned houses, 8.77 lakh have been completed. Indore and Bhopal will be developed as metropolitan regions, followed by Jabalpur and Gwalior in the second phase. Madhya Pradesh is the first state where metro rail services began in two major cities—Indore and Bhopal, within a single year.

Significant steps have been taken to strengthen public asset management, including transferring the Nagpur bus depot to Madhya Pradesh and making land of oilseed federation plants in Narmadapuram, Sidhi, Sehore and Morena available for industrial use.

Jabalpur, Dewas and Indore Awarded in Clean Air Survey

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, over 81 lakh rural households have been provided tap water connections, with more than 22,000 villages achieving full coverage. Digital platforms like Jal Darpan and modern laboratories have strengthened water quality monitoring.

Transport services have been simplified through the Vahan and Sarathi portals, with registrations, permits, and licenses issued digitally. State-run bus services will commence soon, benefiting all sections of society.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that 337 tonnes of waste collected from Union Carbide India Limited have been safely disposed of, and that he inspected the premises without a mask. A memorial will be built on the site in memory of the gas tragedy victims. Jabalpur, Dewas, and Indore were awarded by the Government of India in the Clean Air Survey.

Coding Labs to be started in Technical Institutions

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said education in Madhya Pradesh is deeply rooted in Indian culture and values, noting that Lord Shri Krishna received education at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain. Efforts to improve school education have reduced the primary-level dropout rate from 6 per cent to zero in 2024–25.

The government is paying fees for 8.5 lakh students studying in private schools. A total of 369 Sandipani Schools have been started. Three new universities have been established in memory of tribal heroes, and credit-based certificate courses in 22 Indian and four foreign languages are being launched.

Admissions in government polytechnic colleges have increased by over 21 per cent. Ten incubation centres have been set up, and the coding lab established at the Government Engineering College, Rewa, will be replicated across other technical institutions.

“Developed Madhya Pradesh@2047” Vision Aligned with “Developed India@2047”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that state revenue increased from ₹51,469 crore in 2023–24 to ₹55,633 crore in 2024–25, marking a growth of over 8 per cent. The ‘Developed Madhya Pradesh@2047’ Vision Document was released on the state’s foundation day, aligned with Prime Minister Shri Modi’s ‘Developed India@2047’ vision.

Madhya Pradesh secured first rank in Category-A of the State Mining Radiance Index. An MoU has been signed with Coal India Limited for the exploration of critical minerals. The Chief Minister said good governance is the foundation stone of the state’s progress.

Special Identity in Forest and Wildlife Conservation

Significant progress has been made in forest and wildlife conservation. Madhav National Park in Shivpuri has been declared the state’s ninth tiger reserve. New sanctuaries have been established in Sagar and Sheopur districts, and Nauradehi Sanctuary is being developed as a third cheetah habitat after Kuno and Gandhi Sagar.

A database is being created for denotified, nomadic, and semi-nomadic communities through the Samarth portal and mobile app to integrate them into the mainstream.

Fifteen Sites from the State Included in UNESCO World Heritage List

Multi-dimensional efforts are underway for cultural resurgence. Development of the Shri Ram Van Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Patheya is underway, while Chitrakoot is being developed as a world-class religious and tourism destination.

Fifteen sites, including Gwalior Fort, Burhanpur’s Kundi Bhandara, the stone art of Chambal Valley, Gond memorials of Mandla, Satpura Tiger Reserve, and Bhojeshwar Mahadev Temple in Bhojpur, have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Funds amounting to ₹19.91 crore have been approved for the renovation of temples.

More Than 50 Medical Colleges to be Established

Providing quality healthcare is a priority. The state currently has 19 government and 14 private medical colleges. Six new government medical colleges will be established by 2028, taking the total number to over 50. Ujjain will soon gain recognition as a MediCity, making Madhya Pradesh the first state to undertake such an initiative.

Inter-State River Linking Projects to Boost Agricultural Production

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that irrigation is vital to farmer prosperity. In the past two years, irrigation capacity has been expanded across more than 7 lakh hectares during the Rabi season. The state aims to provide irrigation to 100 lakh hectares in the future. Inter-state river linking projects will significantly enhance agricultural production. He highlighted strong parliamentary traditions, cooperative sector growth, cleanliness campaigns, environmental initiatives, and innovations such as tourism development in Patalkot and expansion of homestays, including in Ujjain.

Madhya Pradesh First State to Provide Legal Guarantee for Notified Services

Madhya Pradesh is the first state to provide a legal guarantee for notified services. Public service centres are operational at district and tehsil levels. Under a special campaign, caste certificates have been issued to 15 million citizens.

‘Sankalp Se Samadhan’ has been launched to ensure the benefits of 106 welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries. Labour welfare remains a priority, with assistance provided to over 1.21 lakh beneficiaries under the Sambal Scheme. Legal aid has been extended to over 1.5 lakh citizens.

State Government Sensitive to All Sections of Society

Over 12.5 million women receive ₹1,500 per month under the Ladli Behna Scheme. Scholarships are being provided to over 2.5 lakh girls under the Ladli Laxmi Scheme, while 3 lakh women have benefited from the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

More than 5.4 million elderly persons, widows, persons with disabilities, abandoned and unmarried women receive a monthly pension of ₹600. Assistance has been provided to over 52,000 beneficiaries under marriage assistance schemes. A paid old-age home is being developed in Bhopal, with plans to expand such initiatives across the state.

Madhya Pradesh Launches Space Tech Policy

Steps have been taken to strengthen civil aviation services. New airports at Rewa, Satna, and Datia have been inaugurated. Regular flights from Rewa to New Delhi and Indore have begun. Ujjain airport will be the state’s 10th airport.

Over 500 services have been integrated through the MP e-Seva portal and mobile app, along with the successful implementation of Sampada-2. Madhya Pradesh has launched a Space Tech Policy to transform its scientific and astronomical heritage into future-ready technological leadership.

Bhopal to Become a Sports Hub

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is carving a new identity in sports. In the past two years, athletes have won 19 gold, 29 silver and 26 bronze medals at the international level and 189 gold, 131 silver and 118 bronze medals nationally.

State athlete and Indian women’s cricket team member Kranti Gaud received an incentive of ₹1 crore. A grand Khelo Madhya Pradesh event was organised, and an international sports complex costing nearly ₹1,000 crore is being built in Bhopal to promote sports tourism and develop the city as a sports hub.

Continuous Progress of the State Is Our Goal

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that continuous progress is the state’s goal and called upon everyone to work together for a resurgent Madhya Pradesh. Republic Day is an occasion to review achievements and plan for a brighter future. He expressed confidence that citizens would actively participate in the state’s development and those collective efforts of society and government would further enhance the state’s pride.
