Government Committed to the Protection and Promotion of Gaumata: Chief Minister Sai

Chief Minister launches trailer of the first film on Gaumata, ‘Godan’
Announcement made to make the film ‘Godan’ tax-free in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai on Tuesday launched the trailer of the first film based on Gaumata, titled ‘Godan’, at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office in the state capital Raipur. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the government is fully committed to the protection and promotion of Gaumata. He emphasised that Gaumata is not only spiritually revered but also holds immense economic and scientific importance. The Chief Minister also announced that the film ‘Godan’ will be made tax-free in Chhattisgarh.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Chief Minister Sai said that extensive work is being carried out in Chhattisgarh for cow conservation. The daily subsidy provided for fodder for cows in gaushalas has been increased from ₹20 to ₹35, and gaushalas are now being given financial assistance of up to ₹25 lakh. He added that the government is also establishing Godham, where proper care of stray and roaming cattle is being ensured.

The Chief Minister said that it is believed that 33 crore deities reside in Gaumata, and Panchagavya is used before every religious ritual. He expressed happiness that the trailer of the first film centred on Gaumata, ‘Godan’, was being launched. Through this film, people will get an opportunity to better understand the importance of Gaumata. He congratulated everyone associated with the film.

Chief Minister Sai said that there is a need to create mass awareness about the importance of Gaumata. Organic manure made from cow dung forms the foundation of organic farming. Through this two-hour and nine-minute film, the message of cow conservation will reach the audience. He noted that cinema is a powerful medium capable of conveying positive messages to a large section of society.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also launched the film’s poster and the song “Gaumata ke pranon ko bacha lo deshvasiyon” (Save the lives of Gaumata, fellow countrymen). He also unveiled a gift pack of Panchagavya products. The film ‘Godan’, produced by Kamdhenu Film Productions and highlighting the significance of Gaumata, will be released in cinemas across India on February 6.

Senior officials and dignitaries including Ajit Mahapatra, Shantanu Shukla, film producer and director Vinod Chaudhary, Dr. I.P. Singh, Subodh Rathi, along with media representatives, were present at the event.
