The Energy of Youth Is the Nation’s True Strength – Higher Education Minister Tankram Verma State-Level NSS Camp Concludes at DK College, Balodabazar
Raipur, January 2026 : The seven-day state-level National Service Scheme (NSS) camp held at Dau Kalyan Government Postgraduate College, Balodabazar, concluded with a dignified closing ceremony on Tuesday. The chief guest at the valedictory function was Higher Education Minister Shri Tankram Verma. The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Goddess Saraswati.
A total of 270 volunteers from nine universities of the state and their affiliated colleges participated in the state-level camp. During the seven days, various academic, social, and personality development activities were organized. On this occasion, participants who performed excellently in different competitions were felicitated with certificates of appreciation.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Shri Verma said that youth possess immense energy, and if this energy is channelized in the right direction, the nation can be taken to new heights. He stated that camps like the NSS instill discipline, self-restraint, and a sense of social responsibility among young people, which prove extremely useful in life.
Highlighting the importance of good company, he said that positive associations help shape an individual’s personality constructively, and therefore, youth should always connect themselves with good thoughts and values. Recalling the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, he urged the youth to follow the path shown by him. He also informed that the state government is continuously taking new initiatives in the field of higher education so that quality education and institutions of a high standard are available to the youth within the state itself.
The closing ceremony was attended by former विधायक Shri Pramod Sharma, State Vice President of Bharat Scouts and Guides Shri Vijay Kesharwani, Municipal Council Vice President Shri Jitendra Mahle, along with other public representatives. The college principal, faculty members, and a large number of students were also present at the programme.
