CM Hemant Soren Returns from Davos and UK Visit, Highlights Jharkhand’s Global Presence and Development Vision
Ranchi, January 2026: After his visit to Davos, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren returned to Ranchi today. He was warmly welcomed at Kirsan Mandua Airport, Ranchi, by the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries along with officials and citizens, who greeted him with traditional drums and fanfare.
During this visit, under CM Soren’s leadership, Jharkhand participated for the first time in the prestigious World Economic Forum held in Davos with an 11-member delegation from the state. This participation marked a historic milestone for Jharkhand, giving the state an opportunity to engage with global leaders, industrialists, and eminent personalities, and to present its development vision on an international platform.
Addressing the delegation at Ranchi, CM Soren said that the experiences and learnings from the World Economic Forum would accelerate Jharkhand’s development initiatives. He emphasized that Jharkhand has now effectively voiced its perspectives globally, highlighting its potential and opportunities in sectors like education, industry, and sustainable development. Since the formation of the state, this is the first time Jharkhand has presented its unique capabilities and aspirations at a global economic forum, reinforcing its identity and progress.
CM Soren explained that insights gained from the international conference would be translated into practical steps for the state’s comprehensive development. He highlighted Jharkhand’s abundant natural resources—water, forests, and land—and the untapped potential that, if properly harnessed, can propel the state toward rapid growth. The Chief Minister underlined the government’s focus on creating a stronger foundation for the youth and future generations, using innovative approaches in education, skill development, and economic opportunities.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that the state government’s priority is to transform Jharkhand into a progressive, opportunity-rich region, leveraging both local resources and global experiences. Participation in international forums like Davos not only enhances Jharkhand’s global visibility but also brings back valuable ideas that can strengthen governance, education, industry, and innovation at the state level.
CM Soren concluded by reiterating that the government is committed to utilizing every opportunity and resource to guide Jharkhand on a sustained path of economic growth, social development, and global recognition.
