Cambodia Airways Signs Deal to Purchase 20 Chinese C909 Regional Jets

Beijing, July 2026 : Cambodia Airways has signed an agreement with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) to purchase 20 C909 regional aircraft, marking another milestone for China’s growing civil aviation industry.

The agreement was recently signed in Shanghai, according to COMAC. The C909 is a 90-seat regional turbofan jet independently developed by China for short- and medium-haul routes. The aircraft is designed to efficiently connect smaller and medium-sized cities with major aviation hubs, offering airlines a cost-effective solution for regional connectivity.

The deal further strengthens COMAC’s presence in international markets as the company continues to expand its global footprint. The C909 has already entered overseas markets, including Indonesia, Laos and Vietnam, and the Cambodia Airways order is expected to boost its commercial success across Southeast Asia.
