Chief Minister Chairs Meeting on Utilisation of BSNL Land in Major Indian Cities for Mizoram
Aizawl, February 2026:Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma chaired a meeting at his office to review the follow-up action on discussions held on July 7, 2025 between the Chief Minister and the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of BSNL regarding the utilisation of prime BSNL land located in major cities across India for the benefit of the Government of Mizoram.
To take the initiative forward, the General Administration Department (GAD) has appointed the Mizoram Tourism Development Authority (MTDA) as the nodal agency. MTDA has already selected Urban Infrastructure Management Services as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) through an open tender process. The PMC team is currently inspecting BSNL land parcels in different cities and has so far conducted site visits in Beltola (Guwahati) and Delhi.
As per the Chief Minister’s directions, further site inspections will be carried out in Mumbai, Chennai, Vellore, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Shillong. Discussions were also held on proposals under which the State Government could utilise these properties and construct required buildings without incurring financial expenditure from the State exchequer.
The meeting was attended by Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Tourism Minister; Pu Sudhir Kumar, Principal Secretary, GAD; Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister; Pu R. Lalrodingi, Director, Tourism; along with senior officials from BSNL Mizoram and other concerned departments.
