BSF ADG Reviews Security Along Bangladesh Border
Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG) of the BSF Eastern Command, recently concluded a four-day review of operational preparedness along the India-Bangladesh border at the BSF Guwahati Frontier. During his visit, ADG Gandhi was briefed by Makrand Deouskar, Inspector General of BSF Guwahati Frontier, and other officers on the current security situation, border challenges, and measures to address trans-border crimes.
The ADG inspected the border in the Dhubri sector and evaluated riverine outposts situated on char lands along the Brahmaputra River. He reviewed the effectiveness of the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS), which provides continuous surveillance to combat various border crimes. Additionally, he engaged in discussions with field commanders to assess the security situation and refine strategies for maintaining a secure Indo-Bangladesh border.
In Guwahati, ADG Gandhi met with Assam DGP Gyanendra Pratap Singh and former DG of the BDF, S.L. Thaosen, to discuss border management and coordination efforts between the BSF and Assam Police. These discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and ensuring a seamless approach to managing the India-Bangladesh international border in Assam.
