US Military Investigations Have Found That American Forces Are Responsible For Iranian Girls School Massacre.
Washington DC; March 2026: US military investigators have found that American forces were likely responsible for the recent strike on an Iranian girls’ school in Minab, official sources have confirmed the same.
According to the official sources, it is unclear how much longer the investigation will last or what evidence US investigators are seeking before the assessment can be completed. Meanwhile, Israeli sources have asserted that Israeli and US forces had divided their attacks in Iran both geographically and by target type, with Israel striking missile launch sites in western Iran, and the US was attacking such targets, as well as naval ones, in the south.
The US military used the Maven Smart System digital air traffic control platform, based on the Claude artificial intelligence (AI) model, to select targets in planning the operation against Iran, which has caused the unpardonable havoc at the educational institution in Minab killing almost 190 people (mostly students alongside their parents). According to the sources, in preparation for the operation, the US used the platform to identify “hundreds” of targets and their precise coordinates, as well as to compile lists of these targets in order of priority. Thanks to AI, the US struck a thousand targets in the first 24 hours of its attack on Iran.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth acknowledged on Wednesday, that the military was investigating the incident, saying the United States does not deliberately target civilian sites. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said U.S. forces “would not deliberately target a school” after Iranian state media reported the killings. “The Department of War would be investigating that if that was our strike, and I would refer your question to them”, Rubio told reporters on Monday when asked about the incident. “The United States would not deliberately target a school”.
The incident has been condemned by the U.N. culture and education agency UNESCO and Nobel Peace Prize-winning education activist Malala Yousafzai. Deliberately attacking an educational institution or hospital or any other civilian structure is a war crime under international humanitarian law.
Rosemary DiCarlo, the United Nations Under Secretary General for peacebuilding, said on Monday she was aware of reports from Iran on the deaths from the reported strike and noted that U.S. officials have said they were looking into the reports. “It will be very tragic, but I can’t speak to the details behind it because I just don’t have it. It will be a tragic outcome if it’s happened. I don’t have the details as to what led to it but what is clear is that the United States will not deliberately target a school”, DiCarlo said.
Israel’s ambassador to the U.N., Danny Danon, was also asked about the strike that Iranian state media blamed on Israel and the U.S. Danon said he had seen different reports, including that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted the school.
