Bihar Legislative Council Panel Meets Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

Ranchi, March 2026 : Members of the Child Protection and Women Empowerment Committee of the Bihar Legislative Council met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Jharkhand Assembly complex on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Chief Minister on the various initiatives and programmes being undertaken by their committee in Bihar, particularly in the areas of child welfare and women’s empowerment. The members also shared insights gained during their visit to the Jharkhand Assembly, where they reviewed the work being carried out by the state’s Women and Child Development Committee.

The visiting delegation appreciated the efforts made by Jharkhand in strengthening welfare measures and exchanged experiences to enhance coordination and learning between the two states. They highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing issues related to child protection and women’s empowerment.

Chairperson of the Jharkhand Assembly’s Women and Child Development Committee and MLA Kalpana Soren was also present during the interaction.

The Bihar delegation was led by committee chairperson Dr. Kumud Verma and included members Reena Yadav, Munni Devi, and Nivedita Singh, among others. The meeting focused on sharing best practices and strengthening institutional mechanisms for social welfare initiatives.
