Commandant of 1st IR Battalion, Mualvum Awards Rank Badges to Newly Promoted Police Personnel
Aizawl, March 2026: Pu M.S. Dawngkima, MPS, Commandant of the 1st IR Battalion, Mualvum, today conferred rank badges on 10 personnel of the battalion who were recently promoted from Havildar to Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) under the Mizoram Police.
These promotions came after the successful completion of the Departmental Promotion Examination conducted for advancement from Havildar to Sub-Inspector (AB). A total of 10 personnel from the 1st IR Battalion, Mualvum, qualified and earned their promotions. Notably, one among them secured the top position (1st rank) across the entire Mizoram Police, a feat described as a matter of great pride.
During the ceremony, Commandant Dawngkima formally presented the Sub-Inspector (AB) rank badges to the promoted personnel. He also awarded them citations of appreciation along with cash rewards.
In his address, the Commandant congratulated the newly promoted officers and highlighted that the battalion had been preparing rigorously since last year to face the statewide competition. He stated that their hard work, combined with divine blessings, enabled the 1st IR Battalion, Mualvum, to achieve the top position. He further noted that this accomplishment is not only a proud moment for the battalion but also a significant achievement for Kolasib district as a whole.
