Chief Minister Reviews LPG Supply; Orders Strict Action Against Hoarding and Overpricing

Jaipur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma instructed all district collectors to conduct daily reviews of LPG supply and provide ground-level feedback. He directed that FIRs be registered and licenses canceled for entities or individuals involved in hoarding or overpricing, with repeat offenders to be blacklisted. Emergency inspections must be conducted, and stock registers reconciled with actual storage.

During a video conference at the Chief Minister’s Office on Saturday, Shri Sharma issued comprehensive instructions regarding LPG supply. He directed the Food & Civil Supplies Department, police, and other relevant departments to launch special joint campaigns and conduct regular inspections of warehouses, agencies, and distribution centers across all districts.

Key Instructions

  • Rapid Complaint Resolution: Districts must ensure full activation of helplines and complaint portals. Complaints should be resolved within 24 hours, monitored regularly, and reported at the Chief Secretary level. Awareness campaigns should run via social media, local media, and panchayats to control artificial demand caused by rumors or misinformation, while tracking actual supply and demand daily.
  • OTP-Based Distribution: Collectors were instructed to implement OTP-based LPG distribution and mandatory diary entries in full compliance with central government allocation guidelines.
  • PNG and CGD Network Expansion: Priority should be given to expanding piped natural gas (PNG) and city gas distribution (CGD) networks. All approvals for pipeline laying must be issued within 24 hours, and industrial units encouraged to adopt PNG.
  • Monitoring and Inspections: Under the new central SOP, commercial cylinder supply is ensured as needed. As of March 27, 3,741 inspections were conducted in the state, including 1,506 gas agencies.

Helpline numbers 14435, 112, and 181 are operational to provide assistance to citizens. The meeting included Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas, Police Director General Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, relevant departmental officers, and district collectors connected via video conference.
